Seems a lot complaining on rattling sound in cars nowadays, mostly minor cases though. I've heard all types of such sound in different cars, our own national cars, japanese ones and even in relatively new Golf GTi just last week. Hopefully its just weather, our hot weather really does cause some little issues to lots cars here. Luckily, touch wood, i dun hv any prob with my K3 (1st batch CBU). No worry, these are tiny mini things many car users are facing. smile.gif

careful when u set AUTO, the RECIRC will be auto open and u will complain why it auto open. lolz.. just use manual and it will not auto open.

I think the Auto mode monitors the oxygen and humidity level in the car and lets outside air in if it senses the oxygen level too low.

Recirculation isn't always good after driving a long period of time as it will recirculate the "used" air in the car, causing CO2 level to rise in the car. This will cause fatigue due to oxygen deficiency.

but i dont think ours is that high tech. its not in the manual after all unlike VW it states clearly that it monitors oxy or co2 levels. anyway, malaysia too hot. and i noticed ours open and close like for certain timing hence low tech i believe.

Hi all

Does the power window lock work for you? Mine doesn't.
Engaging it still allows passenger side window to be rolled down

Our cars sensors are pretty much based on temperature. There is a sensor inside the car (item 5 in the attached image) that detects ambient temperature and ups/drops the fan speed.

Unfortunately whether it's a bug or not, it seems like it is able to open the recirculate port, but is unable to close it (turn it back to recirculate). Anyone care to Jailbreak/Root the EMS (kidding).

Here's a description of the sensor from KGIS:

"An in-car air temperature sensor is located in the crash pad lower panel.
The sensor contains a thermistor which measures the temperature of the inside. The signal decided by the resistance value which changes in accordance with perceived inside temperature, is delivered to the heater control unit and according to this signal the control unit regulates the in-car temperature to the intended value."

That's not 7.3L/100.... that's 6.93km/L, which imo is pretty bad. 7.3L/100km is ok, but 7km/L is a bit too low.

That's only 9km/L. which is also pretty bad.

I thought Ceratos should be in the range of 11-13km/L?

you sure your RM100=330km-360km? seriously yau mo?

in anycase i think it not accurate to follow the speedometer where it says 8.8L/100km. thats the average. usually i would start pumping around 510km which would come up to RM96-98 ringgit

Hi, yes my is 7.3/100, so RM100 must be 500++KMH, but don't know why just can go 300++KMH only.
Normally my car if drive in city will get 8 or 9/100,
7.3/100KM is i drive to JB from Seremban and go back to Seremban, now like jam at 7.3/100.
So what can i do now ?
Thank you

Hi, i think is normal for Korea car, the car stay in traffic jam but the fuel like still hard working, the meter 8/100KM will up to 9 or 10/100KM but the car is still stay at traffic jam
So that mean Korea car is stop but fuel use like the car still running ?
Compare with my brother car BMW, if stay at traffic jam ,but the meter 8/100KM will not change.
Thank you.

Hi, yes very seriously, my Cerato if drive in town just can go RM100=330km-360km (and i drive not over 3000rpm)
And i also try drive to JB Skudai from Seremban and back to Seremban, and i get RM100=510KM and the meter still show estimate 160KM (But 160KM i just can get 60KM in town)
Thank you.

can someone list down what other issues this car has? So far i've got this 3 :

1) horrible mileage
2) random noises in the cabin
3) pathetic resale value.

i really like the design of the car, but still looking at the pros and cons.

thanks.

Yeah the estimate on the display is pretty crappy. Anything below 50km left it will not show. Anyway seems like your mileage is quite bad even for city drive. My wife drive from Shah Alam to kuchai lama daily. Maybe not as jam as yours. The mivy I am driving can go 350km for 35liter so I am actually quite ok with my cerato given that it's a 2.0. Sorry can't help you man. I am not a car guy
