To request recommendation, what u need to post:

1. Brand. Mainstream brand? (Asus, MSI, Samsung). Non-mainstream brand (Ainol, Pipo, Vido, Onda, Momo etc)

For most part, it's very much like recommending a phone, but there are more brands that comes into play, and not forgetting Samsung's favorite trend of saturating the market with whatever models they can come up with.
Depending on what you want, you may decide between a mainstream brand, or a non-mainstream brand. For example, assuming a budget of RM500,one can either get a Asus Memo Pad ME172V, Acer Iconia B1 or if you want a non-mainstream brand, there are options from Ainol (Novo7 Venus, Novo7 Crystal), Vido (N12 Champion, N70S) etc. Most of the time, non-mainstream brands may be able to provide a better specification over a branded one at the same price or cheaper (On the assumption of 7" tablets)As of June 2013, there are several mainstream quad-core CPUs that powers these tablets, among them are the nVidia Tegra3, Samsung Exynos 4412, Actions ATM7029, Allwinner A31, Rockchip RK3188.

It does not support multi-touch. Capacitive has a shiny glass surface and supports multi-touch gestures. This is the most common type on higher priced devices. Processor
In general the faster the processor the faster the Tablet. The speed is measure in GHz and for most usage between 0.8GHz and 1GHz is sufficient. Some newer model are now supplied with Dual Core and Quad Core Processors but a single core processor is sufficient for most users and is more gentle to your battery life.
Memory
There are two forms of memories. RAM and Storage. But again the more the better.
RAM
RAM is used when the processor is working on executing your orders. It is normally measured in MB. 512MB is sufficient for most purposes.
Storage
This is also called Hard Disk or NAND Flash. It is measured in GB and this is where you save all your programs and data. You know the general rule: The more is better. But Android Tablets use storage very efficient and if you just use your Tablet for email, simple games and some browsing you might find that 4 GB is more than sufficient. If you however want to have all your music and films on your Tablet you need space. 16GB is a good choice and if that is not enough you can SD Micro card to store additional data. SD Micro Cards are rather Cheap and have the advantage that you can have several with different data and just change them as you need.
External Connectors
At least one USB port is a must. 2 is better and 3 is fantastic. You also need a TF card slot for you SD Micro Card and then of course a plug for your earphones. Many Tablets are now also coming with a HDMI port. This is essential if you want to transfer High Definition movies etc. to your TV or music to your HiFi.
