Even you select MYR, you will be charged in USD as per the Agoda receipt I received.

If select MYR, the final value is after conversion.

If select USD, the amount will be converted later according to posting date forex rate.

Some forumer here pointed out that even after conversion from USD to MYR, the final value is still lower than selecting MYR.

Agoda had had this issue rectified a few months ago.

few months back, i book Agoda by choosing RM, and get charged directly in RM.. while choosing USD will be charged in USD.. as shown below:

so that, we need to pay in usd or myr better? normally i pay using the rm in agoda. is that pay in usd is more cheaper?


the other thing i want to ask is groupon payment. if i pay the money using amex through the paypal portal, is there any charge? just like i buy a thing cost rm 500 and when i pay through paypal, it still mention rm 500. if i pay using amex in paypal to Groupon, is there any extra charge in my amex transition? anybbody try it before? thanks.

Paying in USD for Agoda is cheaper.
for Paypal, if you're using AMEX you can only charge USD to it.
other currencies will not be accepted

You cant pay in RM at groupon using Amex even through paypal. Groupon SG is fine

Use only on weekends while your RM50 rebate quota is still available, provided the merchant also processes your order on weekend. Else, you may end up paying more compare with using Visa/Mastercard

I just charged my Amex and Visa for USD on the same day.. Visa charged about 1% while Amex charged about 3%..

Amex charged: USD 1 = RM 3.10


Visa charged: USD 1 = RM 3.06

Normally, they had EPF machine so they can check your salary on the spot.

Provided that both transactions were processed on the same day, then Amex was having better rate after after including the 5 times point factor

since i only have maybank 2 gold card, when i use visa gold to pay agoda, i only can get 5 percent.

however, i use maybank amex gold card, i can get 7 percent. so i would prefer using amex gold card than visa gold card during making payment at agoda/maybank.
