hi all, I just received my card yesterday. today i use it to pump patrol. after transaction success, i received a sms says:"thank you for using maybankard for MYR200.00 at SHELL.....". but my transaction is RM50 only. is it every time i pump patrol also will count as RM200 in advanced?

only previously using SCB debit card will credit RM200 then refund the remaining amount. For AMEX 2C, Never.

You know why it never happen to you ? Because your SMS Transaction Limit is higher than RM200 lah
The RM200 is called Pre-Authorization amount when swiping at petrol pump.

I lol'd at the never happen before. And yes, all credit card will pre-authorize RM 200. If you set to RM 1, will get notification immediately

Aud375 is around rm1155 (conversion rate 3.08)
But there is additional 2.5% if use amex
Or just 1% if use visa/master

So which should i choose?
Amex i can get back 2.5% if terms of treatpoints
Visa/master only 0.5% in terms of treatpoints

Hi guys. I want to purchase something online and want to use my AMEX on Paypal. Never used Amex before on paypal and I now AMEX can be fraud easily. Is it okay to do it?

i used it for few years no issue

remember that for online transaction, you cant pay in RM using Amex. USD & SGD are fine

can you confirm that SGD is accepted by Paypal when using Amex?
i tried two weeks back, its not possible.
then noticed that Paypal will only allow payment from Amex if its in USD
