QUOTE(soullsllayer @ Jul 8 2013, 06:50 PM)
so my friend suggested this specs.is it ok?

leadtek gtx760 - 799
aerocool v3x advance with additional fans - 150
corsair vs 550w - 179
lg dvd rw - 59
i5 3330 - 529
msi b75ma e33- 219
kingston valueram 4gb pc1333 - 109
western digital blue 1tb - 189
asus ple - n15 wireless card - 79

the question is,is the psu strong enough to support the system?
cause got a few people suggest to change to 600w.he said something about efficiency >.< 80% efficiency and what not.i dun understand sad.gif
*
Screw out that i5 3330, get i5 3470 with better clock & boost speed by adding RM30 only.
For PSU, get something better such as Seasonic S12II 620W. To secure the power is always more than enough.
Efficiency of the PSU is determining how much powers will be drawn from the socket wall.

Example: 80% efficiency, pc consumes 200W.
So the total power will be drawn socket wall = 200/0.80 = 250W.
The 250W will be the one that being measured by metre reading.
As we can see, better efficiency save more power and money.
For Malaysia the electric is cheaper than other countries, so as long as your psu is 80+ bronze will be good enough to conserve power.

Seasonic S12II 620W RM299 or Rosewill Hive 650W RM299
The mobo no need change, coz i5 3470 still the same socket as i5 3330.

[Purpose] Daily Use for Web Browse, watch video, sometimes gaming.

[Hardware that will be reuse from old rig] Sandisk Ultra 128GB SSD, Crucial M4 64GB SSD, ViewSonic 19inch Wide LCD (1680x1050), Mouse,KB, DVD-RW Drive Possibly, 4x USB PCI Expansion Port

[Monitor resolution] 1680x1050

[Game or software that use frequently] Firefox, Youtube, Metro Last Light, L4D2

[Personal Preference Brand] as long within my budget.

[Location] PJ

Actually still sort of torn between a good desktop set up or good laptop, but my instincts telling me I can get a good desktop with that budget. It will be more worth than getting a laptop, is it? :/ I do gaming but not always maybe just 3-4 times in a month. Just wanna finish the story lol. My Current rig as per siggy below kinda low for today gaming sad.gif Can manage to run Metro but on 800x600 with low settings (ugly T_T)

I want a total rig without the OS.. Budget is such as above. The purpose of this rig is gaming

I see there's Zotac GTX770 2GB AMP! and Zotac GTX770 4GB.. How much difference is the cards from the 770 2gb? I've seen the benchmark for 770 2gb amp! but not 770 4gb.. And will 770 2gb amp! or 770 4gb fit the build above ?

Go for 4GB only when multi monitor or 1440/1600p gaming, 2GB will do the trick in 1080p, u wont so that much performance increase either way. smile.gif

If you're looking to play games as the main function of this rig, then you're better off getting a more powerful GPU. And do you actually need the WD red? the caviar blue will suit most people

Actually the WD red, i just randomly pick. I not too sure the difference with other.

As for GPU, i'm not hardcore gamer, so i guess mid-level GPU will be good enough.
But i do comparing between GTX650 Ti and Sapphire HD7790 OC.
