O.o sapphire 7970 got no game bundel? get the cards only from another seller + postage for free games lol  laugh.gif

well, i guess fx 6300 is good for you if you thinking of OC-ing it, since I3 not capable of it.
*
+1, I'd take up on that game offer better than getting the card, those games are worth a quite few bucks and with trusted sellers online, it's almost a must get

i thought i already put it up there, the plextor 128gb ssd.
its for many usage, 3D rendering, video editing, gaming, more like all in one  smile.gif
so u have any other suggestion or comments ?
*
Oh yes, my mistake, looks to be all rounded though if you're looking to save maybe you could do with a Gtx670 and having more RAM?? cause you're gonna be editing videos, and is OC-capability necessary?? cause if not, you can get away with a Xeon and a cheaper mobo as well whistling.gif

I am not sure if my mobo broken blink.gif , the CPU was unlocked to x4 when I set it up early last year but I noticed just a couple days back that the "unlocking" was undone and now it is back to x2! Is this possible?

And also I noticed that the temp is rather on the high side even at idle. Its always above 70C (from sisoft sandra & CPUID HWMonitor, really abnormal i think. I go into setup and noticed the same temperature. So I went to check online, some says its the NB chip, its ok and it shud be high to run properly they say. I don't think so coz when I try to unlock it again, the system didn't even get pass the sign on page, and getting worse if you attemp continuously meaning, it doesn't even get pass the POST! Weird I think. I suspect the mobo somehow couldn't control the temp as it getting warmer, I check every fan they all running fine.

So the best guess is: change the mobo, since the rest of the components seem ok. I don't think the CPU kaput already.

Any ideas? And any recommendation for a mobo? I am looking at Gigabyte ga-970a-d3. Is this ok?

thanks
*
erm... a 970 do not have any on-board displays so better to go back with 880 chipset since you wanna connect directly to your TV

not too sure about the software part though sry blush.gif

*
Still no budget? NVM will let you off the hook for once, and for the record.. its a PC or RIG... not CPU

Try

Intel Core i5 3470 RM559
MSI B75MA-P45 RM229
Kingston Value RAM 4GB RM94
Plextor M5S 128GB SSD RM299
Sapphire HD7970 trixx edi RM1349
Seasonic SII 620W RM299
BitFenix Shinobi Window RM219

Total RM2679

should be able to play on ultra whistling.gif

is it worth to change to haswell?  purpose for gaming and entertainment

changing to which Haswell?? if your usage is for gaming it's better to spend the $$$ on a GPU if you don't have one already... changing to Haswell will mena changing your mobo as well... maybe list down your full PC spec and budget? that'll help us to help you wink.gif

8gb raMS

120gb ssd

budget around 800.
no oc

i think i will take gpu later on as im not really gaming much this days.
plus there were not much interesting pc title this year.  smile.gif
*
since you're already in Ivy Bridge, my suggestion is to upgrade the CPU to an i5 3470 and be done with the upgrade cause the performance gap for your usage isn't going to be that significant after that

Sorry for incomplete details.
LGA 1155 socket. Manufacturer I don't have any preference... I was using P8H61M by Asus.
*
I'm gonna assume that you're using a non-K processor then cause you're on a H61 and I'm gonna assume you're looking for an mATX sized one as well

Hi Guys,

Is this Rig good enough? I have went thru few recommendations and workout the rig on my budget.

I5 4670K
RAM Corsair Dominator 1866mhz GT
Gigabyte Z87-D3HP
Leadtek GTX650 Ti
Plextor M5S 128gb SSD
Hyper 212 Turbo Edition
WD 1TB CCTV 64M 7200RPM
Seasonic 620W S1211
Aerocool Strike-X

Thanks!!
*
If you're looking to play games as the main function of this rig, then you're better off getting a more powerful GPU. And do you actually need the WD red? the caviar blue will suit most people

oh ok.. cos wan simple setup for my fren smile.gif cos now some nice mobo also have good soundcard but those mobo not cheap.. hmm, this b85 and z87 got wat difference a?
*
actually going Itx is not simple compared to mATX, as hmwgbworld said, the smaller form limits future expansions and the suggested specs is really good enough for your friend's usage, if you're thinking of downgrading the Gtx770 you could but do not skimp on the PSU...you may save a few more $$$ by going with the FSP Raider 650W though, RM269 for an 80+ silver PSU is not bad nod.gif

and regarding the difference on the chipsets?? please google bro, at least show some effort

QUOTE(bingding @ Jul 23 2013, 12:27 AM)
guys i am opting for whether to get gtx 770 Amp or gtx 760 Amp... i know 770 Amp is better but is more expensive for like rm500 as compare to 760 Amp.. so, how is 770 Amp performance compare to 760 Amp? is it worth to spend more in getting gtx 770 Amp?
*
That will depend on if you're using it for it's worth or not, generally if you're on a single 1080p monitor the Gtx760 will serve you fine but comes a time where you may have to lower some settings to play smoothly which is obviously less so with the Gtx770.

Look at the reviews online and judge for yourself if the extra RM500 is worth it or not

guys can anyone help me to choose btwn Asrock B85M Pro4 and MSI H77MA-G43? just which one is better? and how does mobo afect the rig performance?
*
you just need to compare the features to what you need, performance will be the same regardless of what you choose but the Asrock model is probably a better choice with their non-z OC wink.gif feature

QUOTE(adrenc94 @ Jul 24 2013, 08:24 AM)
Wanna ask, if I have enough money for a 7k ++ rig, are there any overkill in this build? Since I'll only be using single monitor at 1920 x 1080 and I personally think I don't need too much of a beast biggrin.gif
Anything that I can do to save some budget from the graphic card?
Planning to do slight overclock as well with H100i or a custom loop smile.gif

General use:
1. Gaming (Latest games and plan to get BF4 and COD: Ghost)
2. Some video editing
3. Engineering students uses (Dunno what yet)

CPU: i7 4770k
Mobo: Asus z87 Sabertooth
GPU:
Option 1: GTX 780
Option 2: HD 7970 in crossfire (Someone suggested this for me, i personally think that it is overkill)
Option 3: HD7990 (A lot of free games! Yay!)
PSU: Corsair AX860
Sound card: Asus Essence STX
SSD: Kingston HyperX 120gb
HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB
Ram: Kingston hyperX Beast 16gb

The case will be bought later on biggrin.gif
*
Pick a smaller chassis cause maybe you'd like to travel around later on as a student, but for sure will need to adjust a few things to your liking, No need for black HDD, performance ram or even that much powerful of a PSU, vid encoding will stress the CPU more than the GPU so can save some more $$$ by going with a Gtx770 instead

That looks like a beast even though you claim to not need one haha well considering you're more towards saving some $$$ then can try this spec:

Intel i7 4770K RM1029
ASUS z87 Gryphon RM729
Kingston 8gb ram x2 RM388
Plextor M5 Pro 256GB RM789
WD Blue 1Tb RM189
ASUS GTX770 dc ii oc RM2099
FSP Raider 650W RM269
Xigmatek Helios 232/231 RM109

Total RM5601

extra $$ can be used to get WC loop or upgrades later on

Sort of know that it is a beast, which is why I took my time here to ask the experts biggrin.gif. The rig that you're suggesting goes more towards the mATX factor right? But the PC that I am using will not need to follow me for travel since I already have my laptop and I am planning to use the PC for entertainment purposes (gaming, fraps, editing and fapping whistling.gif )

I'll get the shipping in UK since it will be obviously too bulky to carry from here.
I think the only overkill would be my GC right? I'll do some thinking first smile.gif
*
in the UK you've got tons of choice to get your hardware from, if you ask me, I'd just swap out the mobo and chassis to make it full ATX and that's there to it since you're not considering to bring the rig with you everywhere.. and yes a single Gtx780 will go a long way with single 1080p monitor

Hi, kalian sifu pls look through my list and see if it makes sense

user posted image
Empty slots in 2nd choice fall back to first choice items.
Empty slots in 1st choice means vacated.

Which option is better? I guess I'm not too obsessed with bootup speed coz my startup items quite lean one, but I'm sure SSD has benefits other than bootup speed.

Main purposes are some gaming (coming from an Inspiron 1520 lappie) and light 3D modelling (not intense, just basic models).
*
The 1st option looks good with the exception of the PSU... change it to a good 600W instead, probably the FSP Raider 650W, RM269
