you just need to compare the features to what you need, performance will be the same regardless of what you choose but the Asrock model is probably a better choice with their non-z OC wink.gif feature

Firstly, do take note that you're actually comparing a LGA 1150 board (Asrock B85M Pro4) vs. LGA 1155 board (MSI H77MA-G43). They're not compatible with one another. LGA 1150 board supports the latest Intel Haswell processors, while LGA 1155 board supports the older gen Intel Ivy Bridge / Sandy Bridge processors.

The best bet to spend your budget to the max is keep using your current stock cooler and only buy HDD & GPU.
Sapphire 7850 2gb RM599 or Leadtek GTX650 Ti BoostT RM599.
WD Blue / Seagate 500gb RM159.

Hi siffus,
Please enlighten me to buy gaming PC for my lil bro.

[Budget] 2.5k max

[Purpose] Gaming, (my lil bro is Art and Design student so he said he want the best graphic if possible sweat.gif )

[Hardware that will be reuse from old rig] None, except keyboard and mouse.

[Monitor resolution] I hope he can get Dell U2312HM but think it is very tight on terms on budget.

[Game or software that use frequently] He play mostly RPG game, NFS and mostly Photoshop.

[Personal Preference Brand] I hope he can get an SSD but if cannot nevermind.

[Location] Doesnt matter, KL or postage also will do.

Thanks. rclxms.gif

Not much.

Speed of precessing photos in photoshop will be slower.
To keep the i5 by changing to ivy and cut some budget on monitor will allow 7850 to fit,

Intel i5 3470 RM559
MSI B75MA-P45 RM229
Kingston 8gb ram RM194
WD Blue 500gb RM159
Sapphire 7850 2gb RM599
FSP Hexa 500W RM149
Casing CM K280 RM129
Dell S2240L led ips 21.5" monitor RM489
Total RM2507
