Install the OS directly to SSD is still a better solution than ExpressCahce

your name... youre SLS right? hmm.. SSD i did considered that, however i would nid to move my HDD out of it and replace my ODD which for me is trobulesome.
PS. btw can i use ssd as cachedrive as well?

QUOTE(slimfox @ Jun 16 2013, 10:37 AM)
yes it works. Install mSata, boot up install expresscache, everything is auto after that.

thanks biggrin.gifD!!!

QUOTE(mfitri77 @ Jun 16 2013, 10:38 AM)
Of course. Any solution that uses the full SSD speed is a better solution all around. I've said as much a few post back. That assumes however that affordability is not an issue. Not everyone can afford to splurge an extra RM400++ just to install a 120-128GB msata.

For now, the solution is there. You want cache, can, just stick the msata in an install the aformentioned drivers, and you are good to go.

actually i haven bought it yet... but am right now considering mushkin atlas deluxe 120gb which max read write at 500++ MB/s...
i wanna peak my laptop performance by setting up boot and cache buffering into that msata.

LOL, well I dun much prefer mSATA than SATA SSD as the HDD location has relativity high temp when idle mode than other part(HDD working temp is 55 degree C, when idle sometimes reach 4X degree C)....
So I install SATA SSD to the HDD part (as it can working in high temp such as 70-75 degree C ), then HDD move to ODD by using HDD caddy bay...
BTW pm ur full name lol, I forgot ur full name ady and as well as fb acc. .... hehe

I do know about that... just troublesome and lazy change... and i have to bundle an external odd too...
From some reliable source tell that ssd probably will dropprice faster than msata in the future due to its high demand..

I don't really post much so I'm sorry if I break any forum rules. Been contemplating so long to replace my laptop which by itself is an antique piece of art (6 years and still running strong). Am currently am split between Y500 and the Asus ROG (the latter due to its design).

My main issue is how big of a gap in performace does the Asus ROG GTX770 has when compared towards Y500 GTX 750 SLI graphics card?

The Y500 certainly looks like a beast, but if the performance is a marginal 5% difference; then I'll probably opt to grab my first ever Lenovo laptop.

Hoping for some advice.

Well, you can't compared Lenovo Y500 with Asus ROG.
Price wise difference, and latter has superior cooling system compared to Lenovo's.

Try emailing Asus Malaysia & see how they give you the run around. I've done that when asking questions about a G55VX & have not managed to get a straight answer from them. Luckily however, there a lot of helpful ppl here in the forum who managed to answer my questions.

Hi all, I just bought Y500, and it comes with 2 GT650M, but it only provide 120W power adapter.

So, the problem is, most of the time, it only detect single GT650M. To enable SLI, does the adaptor has to be 170W?

If using 120W it only reduce 10% performance.
You need to enable SLi in Nvidia Control Panel, how ever having 170W is better for SLi configuration.

Under NVIDIA Control Panel, Set PhysX Configuration tab, it only show single GPU, any way to refresh it to scan for available graphic card?
