how do you define "better"?
example:
1. college student: bring laptop around (school / friends place)regularly, go home weekly / once every 2 weeks, never used a desktop for gaming, dont like laptop to be too heavy etc... 14" better for him
2. employed / anybody else: space limitations -> seldom bring laptop around, coming from desktop environment / love movies, dont mind 3-4kg laptop... then 15.6" might be suitable.

1 thing to note is, if you play games at 1080 resolution, frames would be lower.
so.. which do you prefer? or what are your likes / hates?
matte / glossy screen? a lot for you to think about

The fan's fast, but its faster when plug in to power adapter.

For the hinge part I think no...
And also 3 years onsite and accidental damage warranty is worth it (for the onsite no need go for service center, just call them, accidental that one is more imba), although I din apply and I dun think now still can apply since bought the lappy almost half year ady..
Anyways if u have some ways to register that 3 years warranty in a half year-bought lappy pm me, I also want to upgrade..lol

#update: just found that we can extend warranty....

have anyone experience thermal throttling with their y400/y500 when playing games?

I'm playing prototype 2 on my inspiron 15r se , and the gpu is throttled when it reaches 70+C, then it'll reach unplayable framerate.

That thing helps if you find dust stuck to the exhaust, not intake... if it's at the intake, you're just sucking more dust into it... so, go clean the intake if your intake is dirty....

Actually, I was like hoping that I can always turn that thing on... because your temp can drop around 2 or 3'C more from that... XD

I think I do hit 80'C occasionally, but so far haven't reached unplayable framerate...

or, do disk image with any imaging software and restore...
