Hi all, I just bought Y500, and it comes with 2 GT650M, but it only provide 120W power adapter.

So, the problem is, most of the time, it only detect single GT650M. To enable SLI, does the adaptor has to be 170W?

If using 120W it only reduce 10% performance.
You need to enable SLi in Nvidia Control Panel, how ever having 170W is better for SLi configuration.

Under NVIDIA Control Panel, Set PhysX Configuration tab, it only show single GPU, any way to refresh it to scan for available graphic card?

Problem resolved, I call back to the shop I purchased Y500, and the package actually comes with an extra 170W adapter, will get that from them tomorrow. Should be solving my problem. Thanks to all the reply.

Hi all, I am having problem on the SLI configuration for Y500 SLI GT650M. When the laptop is connected to 170W adapter, boot up from previously shut down state, it detected 2 x graphic card and SLI function correctly. But whenever I restart the laptop, it detect only single graphic card. If I shut down and turn on again 2 x graphic card is detected.

I am running Windows 7 Pro. Please help.

It does look to me the driver is the one having problem... if it's hardware, it's high likely you won't get the 2nd graphic to turn on at all... what's your driver version?
*
I tried 306.30 and also the latest driver from nvidia website. Both has the similar problem. When it is started from shut down state, 2 x graphic card detected. but when it is restarting, only 1 graphic card left, 2nd and 3rd restart also same. Also, I tried boot it from shut down state using only battery, 2 x graphic card detected.

And I am using Windows 7 Pro, installed on Kingston MSATA. Another harddrive for data storage.

Is it confirmed hardware problem?

Update:
I just found this: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/52...d-dual-monitor/ and seems like a lot people is having this same problem, and from the forum, they are also using Windows 7 64 bit, same as mine. So, anyone here running Windows 7 on Y500 GT650M SLI having same problem? (restart -> 1x GT650M, shutdown&start -> 2x GT650M)

All I can think of is to do clean installation of driver (I think there's an option for that while installing, or better to remove all remnants of old driver before installing new one).

Did clean installation (check that option on custom installation), same result. Anyone here using Y500 SLI running Windows 7? I am thinking that maybe the problem is with the incompatibility of Y500 to Windows 7 because its default os is Windows 8.

My problem finally solved, I reinstall Windows 8 and the problem just disappear. Now, new problem comes, anyone encounter Y500 keyboard randomly type random character while typing? I search google for this, and seems like this is a common problem for Y500. Anyone has any solution for this? (I tried turning off the backlit, disable trackpad, and even disable the always on USB on bios, all didnt solve the problem)

Really tired of the problem and bugs by Y500, regreted...
