Anyone experience these issues as below for the Preve Turbo :-

1) When the engine and lights are switched off, you go shopping for 1-2 hours and when you come back you see the strip of white lights on the car is switched on. It's not the main (yellow) headlights but the strip of (white) lights below the main head lights.

Why these lights are automatically on sometimes? On the light switch, everything is already "Off".

2) When you insert the key and press the start button, the engine takes a longer time, say 3-4 seconds to start(usually just about 1 second). Before the engine starts there is a message "Battery Low".
*
Never experienced no.1.

No.2 is probably due to you start the engine too fast, the valve didn't open long enough for the fuel intake. Usually I Insert Key > Push Start Engine > Press Brake > Wait 3-4 seconds > Push Start Engine again.

The battery low indicator is because of the system detected the engine couldn't be started, and regarded the symptom as had been caused by low battery.

Oh, okay. As for starting the engine, once I inserted key, I pressed on the brakes and push start button. Guess I skipped one step by pushing start engine button first this morning.

As for the lights, funny thing. Perhaps I have accidentally pressed Unlock on the remote which caused the lights to come on when I took it out from my pocket, and I am not aware of it. Anyway, will monitor further.

Pushing the Start Engine with the brake at one go is akin to Insert Key and crank it to start position in normal key-ignition car. This can seriously damage your engine overtime. The proper step is to go by Acc > On > Start.

Sporty, yes start the engine slower.

For me (without push start), if I directly put the key in and crank, I will get the low battery sign too. Now I usually put key in, let the 'wrrrr' sound go off first before I crank. No more low battery sign anymore so far.

Would like to check. For the Preve Turbo, does anyone experience a slight or soft metal grinding sound when accelerating uniformly from 0km/h to 100km/h, say when exiting the toll or when going up a slightly inclined slope?

In my case, the car usually doesn't exhibit this metal grinding sound but the sound sometimes will pop up. The sound isn't really loud but it is definitely there.

Is this inherent in all Preve Turbo? If not, then I'll ask the guys at the SC to check it out in my next service.

So which sequence is better:

1. Insert key, Press Start once, Press Start again, Press on Brake for 3-4 secs, Press Start to Start Engine.

or

2. Insert key, Press Start, Press Brake for 3-4 seconds, Press Start to Start Engine.

To me method 1 seems better as it gives chance for the electronics to initialize properly.

1 is better...
at least deliver consistent voltage to electronic devices for diagnose...
usually electronic device will dead due to fluctuation of voltage...

#1 should be the best. However, if you follow the sequence suggested on the screen (#2), it should already be fine.

i rarely bring the car to work.. only sometimes, cruising at 80-90 works the best actually.. i got the 4.1L/100km when i filled up full tank, set the cruise control at 80km/h and i filled to brim again after around 120km, i got the result.. that was done at PLUS highway purely.. normal routes also, i would try my best to avoid traffic jam, even if going abit further (which i dont mind). if i bring my car to work, in klcc, i would actually leave very early in the morning to avoid traffic jam.. and i believe that the 4.1L/100 km can be bettered if i use a lighter grade engine oil as im using 10w-40 now..
