I would advice you to stay far from shared room unless you are on very tight budget.

please explain.[/quote]I was actually waiting for people to jump down from buildings in 2008. Because that would be the signal to enter the property market (or whichever market you were eyeing). Sadly, nobody did and the fire sale did not materialise.

I from Sabah civil side, no buildings there all tree so I have to come here.

A lot of UTM seniors are here. You know any? Just come on Saturdays and buy Strait Time go back and look for jobs bah.

You want big firm MNC then Aecom, TYLin, Arup, Meinhardt, CPG, PB those. Local firm then you have to find yourself to see the company good or not. My opinion is that you find a PE that have time and willing to teach and guide you. More important than salary. After 4-5 years you can and should stand up on your own. Design engineer don't earn much. Consider this 4-5 years as paying for tuition fee because of the pay. I think you need to take a MSc here because PEB don't allow UTM to sit for the first exam. You have to check yourself don't take my words. I only remember one of my UTM friend said something like that.

Eh... I think I know who you are, you his course mate right? Why you also here?

Nope, I'm not leaving hometown is due to my parents as I'm the only one son. Sorry, That I'm not mentioned at the first place. Besides, I also consider about getting PE in malaysia. Is that anyone can ensure we can get IR/PE in malaysia with 3-4 years singapore working experiences + 1 year local  ?
Thanks

QUOTE(JohnJon82 @ Apr 24 2013, 12:33 PM)
By the requirement yes. The final year before applying for interview must be local (take 2 exams before you apply for interview), reside in Malaysia for 6 months I think. But it is very hard to pass the interview if you only have that 6 months to 1 year local experience. Those things we practice in SG are not all applicable to MY. For SG PE the first degree is important. Where your degree from?

For M'sia PE, pls register as a graduate engineer first with the Board of Engineers Malaysia or they will not recognise all experience gained before your registration...even my PE (CEng) obtained when I was working in the land of our colonial master was not recognised since I did not register with them first.

As for Singapore PEB, they publish recognised degrees. If you do not have one of these, you will need to get a recognised Masters. Best to drop a note to Singapore PEB to confirm.

The big Q 'Why do you want to be a PE?' If you want to climb the ladder within consulting engineering, PUB, LTA, etc. environment, perhaps it will be a pre-requisite to move up. Or do you want to be your own boss as a self employed consulting engineer?

Pls do not think also that after getting the PE your pay package will sky rocket. If it is for self achievement, sure...go for it.

Don't dare to do, your neighbours all rich people later little thing also sue I no money pay. Told your bf the procedure and method already, ask him study more at night la. He can do himself also, don't want to do for you free only. You ask him la just beside you I told him everything I know for your case. Need to start soon, the authority need some time to approve before construction. About there already. 5-6 months to get your thing done and running.

Let me do this for the new people that come SG as I gone through the process recently.

Check here -> http://app.peb.gov.sg/Html/pe_approved.html

If don't want to read - Summary: Only UM bachelor degree is recognised. For other schools in Malaysia, normally they would take a MSc/PhD in the two universities here to be recognised. 4 years experience, 2 exams, 1 interview, and done.

Pay wise, really depend on yourself how you use it.

At least 2.9k (Checked).  Does anyone here in construction field for civil eng here ? I hope you dont mind to share your view as a consultant or contractor in sg  notworthy.gif

I have a friend currently a M&E engineer in one of the company... construction too but not as civil la.. In the beginning it's damn tough, cause you do not know anything, aper pun kena marah.. he had a really tough and hard time... but now he is earning quite handsomely, due to his experiences...

He told me in Singapore, it's kinda fast paced and the problem is.. with construction, Singapore govt is very difficult to deal with.. this cannot that cannot, so in the end.. when you are meeting deadlines, you will be pushed by two sectors, the govt and your client.. haha.. dunno how to describe it.. but just be prepared la.. haha.. it's not easy... my friend is in the contractor side.. but now he get handsome pay... brows.gif brows.gif
