girl, 行行出状元. actually we are always "u see me good, i see u good". dont ever regret what u have studied, it will stop u from moving forward and it'll kill your passion towards your job.

it's not late to take up some special courses/certificates to upgrade yourself nod.gif

i butthurt whole day already but now i reach home i feel lagi butthurt.

now i doing hr&admin for 1.6k

so i am doing recruitment for my company now.

there's this singaporean guy, highest qualification is secondary school. one year younger than me. work as retail and then sales coordinator. and his pay is 1.8k

i super butthurt my degree is worthless. his experience i also have. my qualification is higher. but my pay is lower because i am foreigner.

i need to do something asap

/end of rant

Is this guy your colleague doing the exact same job you are doing in your company's HR & Admin dept? Is your manager also supervising him? Do both of you have the same performance appraisal ratings?

May not necessarily be you're paid less just because you're a foreigner.

u dunno how i feel right now.

you also can do part time before your mind start to deplete on whatever you have learnt in degree

if not because of my job requires to travel monthly, i would have done a part time master in engineering and attending weekends lectures.
because of the travelling uncertainty or ad-hoc, i only can do distance learning part time for now after nearly 9 years out from uni.

@hokin

@Sean

Thanks for the insights guys, i'm a cooking kinda guy as when i lived in AUS i did alot of cooking it was just my way of life i don't think constant hawker food is healthy

I agree with the living like a foreign labor part, i'm coming here to SG for experience as well as to enjoy my life and coming home to a nice place at least is the bare minimum i need. So long as my room/toilet is clean i dont really mind the other area's of the place.

I've contacted a few agents fingers crossed i can get a condo at aljunid for 850.

I came up with a rough budget with my salary feed back would be great.

Rent/pub- $800-1k (RM350)

Phone-$50 (RM80)

Transport -$60 (RM150, depending on driving frequency)

food $20 p/day -$600 my thoughts here are i can eat fancy sometimes but just don't spend to much on other days to accommodate for the day i do spend a bit more on a meal out (RM600)

leisure (activities/gym/shopping/etc):$400 (RM500-1000)

Savings:$1k (Income - Expenses)

Thoughts? I plan for it to be like that generally and adjust as i live and see how much i would spend

All I see from your posts are complain complain complain complain. If you are so miserable here (I recall you felt "forced" to come to SG by your parents and it wasn't necessarily what you wanted to do) then pack up and go back home.

Having said that, perhaps you're just suffering from a little Quarter Life Crisis. You spent the last 5, 10, 15 sheltered years in school imagining what your working life would be, only to find out in the last few weeks that reality isn't as rosy as you hoped.

All I can say is welcome to the real world. All of us to some degree or other have felt what you feel. Heck, when I first started working I was SO SURE that I would be driving an RX8 after 3 years of working life. Now I'm entering into my 8th year and I can't really even afford a car.

when someone is already having a 'victimized mindset', his/her doors are shut. Everything will be injusticed to them. From pay, race, religion, nationality and even family. You are absolutely right about packing up and leave.
