Any recommendation for a good and long lasting paint coating? Getting a Rio signal red, thought of applying coating to make the red paint last longer.

thanks!

almost a month already (pre cny lol), and mom being lazy (and me reluctant to give a shit on a car that isn't mine lol), the car haven't been washed since i did pre CNY

rain-x is still performing well... for something in the low 10/20's in ringgits lol.

Hey guys.

I've been thinking for sometimes. How do you detail a matte paint surface like those on door window frame or bodykits? Appreciate some input here smile.gif

anyone here using permanon? or duragloss?

it might just be me missing something when prepping the surface but permanon just wont last above 1 month or whatever duration it is sealant last (3months i think)

after it finishes though im gonna try duragloss! any good reviews on the sealant and car wash? because before permanon im using megs ultimate range.

altho due to its easy application, permanon is quite nice. wash clay seal in just over an hour

I realize, the cleaner your car is, the more noticeable the dust sticking to your car. laugh.gif

I've just opti-seal-ed and wax my car. Feel so clean and shinny now, of course minus the swirl. laugh.gif

Hi, want to ask around. Should I send my new car to a polish n wax?
Where is the best place to do this? Heard it is few hundred ringgit for a good 3 layered polish n wax.

I always use Optimum, you mistaken me as someone else ah?

Just that I start to understand more into car detailing, and realize there are more or better alternative out there.

Well cleaning car is fun and satisfactory, as long as the wife do not grumble. laugh.gif

And the thing is, many people don't realize that dirt build up overtime can hamper water beading. doh.gif

Yup, I didn't get a very nice water beading effect. But water beading not really good lar, might have water spot issue too.

It was my method of cleaning that was the problem, also was rushing that time... Wifey grumble already.

Now practice more and more, and also consult other experience otai-otai, then getting hang of it already.

Actually you don't really need water beading, if you are doing regular cleaning. Just that if you have it on the mirror, then it will protect your wiper too.

I like krismas method on cleaning the windscreen, that really works.
I don't do that. I only wash->clay->IPA???->Turtle Rain protect, I mean on the windscreen only.

Yep.. It's like people think they sapu lotion on their body once, then they no need mandi and the lotion will keep on feeling smooth etc etc. When dirts build up, and slowly it will overtake the entire lotion.

Yep, I am part of Detailien. The training facility basically is at our Detailien Hive in Sunway Damansara, about when to organize, that is obviously up to KC.

I washed and dried my car, and then it rains!!!

mad.gif

After the rain i decided to dry the car again.

When i wiped off the water i noticed my microfiber had some black water/dust!!
I was like WTH!!

The car was cleaned before it rained.
Where did the dust /dirt come from?
From the rain obviously.

This shows how dirty rain can be.

This is... Unfortunately, quite true. And even not the rain, let your car sit there for half a day, and you notice dust on it already. Even worst if there is renovation nearby.

It's always a predicament. Wash Saturday morning and rained in the afternoon. Should I or should I not just do a simple rinse-and-dry the next day....???

I've learned to live with it and let it be unless I have the time to do a quick wash (with shampoo). A simple rinse with water alone would yield the result like you had - quite risky. The non-rinsing wash method is a no-go for me as I don't like the polymer that they leave behind. Oh what we would do keep those swirls away.....hahahaha....
