Good job for the V2 rclxms.gif

Lemme start the thread with some pics.

Did a 50/50 on a heavily swirled boot. Still got some odd deep scratches. Might wanna run a few more passes of finishing polish next time.

Haha, the EGP is for protection only. I used Osren perfect cut 2.0 polish with lc orange pad, followed by white pad to refine it.

Btw, I've been trying to used up the EGP. About time to try something else as lsp biggrin.gif

Hey guys.

I've been thinking for sometimes. How do you detail a matte paint surface like those on door window frame or bodykits? Appreciate some input here smile.gif

biggrin.gif am using that too lol, otherwise it would take too many dry cloths to dry them off xD so far no problem for me, of coz use it w/o force/pressure is the key. Just sharing wink.gif

btw, was nothing better to do last weekend, so i tried permanon > meguair's wax & detailer lol only firt front part of the car tho, just for testing xD it's too bad i don have 'before' and 'after' for comparison, but personally i found it more shiny biggrin.gif Wonder how long this can last xD

excuse me for a long post xD

sifu-sifu here please help me~ I have 2 problems here(refer to pic #1 and #2 below)

1. How to reduce this damn persistent dirt? As u see from the pic, the whiter area is after i applied from wax, amazingly wax can remove it -.-, so any other way to do it? I wash car twice a week, and after abt 1 month, this happens lol -.- everytime. Damn annoying la =( FYI, i parked my car w/o covered place, 24/7

2. My paint seems f***ed up lol, any idea how to cure? =( It's strange that only this part of the car become like this.

Looks like most white car will have this problem. No choice but to wash and wax regularly to minimize chances of dirt to bond with the paint. Dirt are more apparent on white paint unfortunately. My bro's white car also suffer from this.

Hey all. Just wanna seek your professional advice on how to remove the scratches below. I tried using Soft99's Luster and didn't seem to work. Am I suppose to use polisher instead ? Am I suppose to touch up the paint as well (like using Ezytouch up). Thanks in advance !

I think, a tar remover or a degreaser might help dissolving that stubborn stain a little bit. If it didn't, maybe a clay bar could help.

Another weekend another detail. Btw guys, I have a problem with removing tape mark on plastic headlamp. That stubborn little thing refuse to come out during normal wash while agitating with mf cloth. Can I use tar remover to remove it? Will it dissolve the original coating? icon_question.gif

Lol, i use kitchen paper towel, fold it 4 ways to apply rain x. Then use the same paper towel but a fresh one to buff off. Works fine and hopefully i don't induce any swirls or scratches to the glass biggrin.gif

Nice one. What dilution?

1:10 Hopefully powerful enough to tackle the rest of the seats and carpet, hahaha.

Wanna try going 1:15 and see whether it also work. Cuz i think 1:10 is too strong for fabrics....and also would be a little bit more difficult to rinse off thoroughly....I normally use around 1:20, but if it's as soiled as the picture shows, a stronger dilution would be better.
*
I see. Perhaps I shud experiment with a weaker dilution and see if it works. I just lightly mist the solution and agitate with a brush, use a clean dry mf to remove the solution and dirt along with it. The perils of working without a wet/dry extractor, sigh...

Thanks man. The ride belongs to a friend and it has never been polished before.

Seriously, it's looking real good there. What sandpaper grit that you used to sand the surface?

This is done over 2 days, one car at a time using a rotator with 5-6' country lake wool for polishing with ORSEN Crystal Cut 3.0. Then its finish with Mothers wax from Ace Hardware using old sponge and good old hand job.

What do ya think for 1st timer?

*
Looks good. Did you refine with milder polish after crystal cut 3.0? Btw, it will be better to use a proper foam applicator pad to apply wax. I think Ace hardware should carry some of those haha.

thanks for the tip. I tried soaking in a dish washing liquid mix but even after half a day, i still need to squeeze the wax out. real PITA. Dont really see DPD in hypermarts but i think i did see it in Ace. need to check it out. Just curious what would happen if i soak longer than 2 hours? biggrin.gif

Try using soap bar and spread on the pad like butter on bread. Rinse well after that. Works better than dish washing liquid and works well for me, hehe.
