I am more interested in the S4 sales figures this time. Will Samsung succeed as in S3 or will it fail. If is latter , it'd be a wake-up call to Samsung to seriously review their design decisions

My personal opinion:
Make the smartphone TRULY like the PC where you can install any damned thing you want.

That will shake the entire industry. The smartphone and the pc are converging and it has been predicted that the phone will become your pc a bit down the road. However the only thing WRONG with this is that the phone as PC is almost completely locked down and it becomes a throwaway device. Set it free from locked bootloaders and implement a universal standard bios. That in itself is not an innovation but an industry shaking move, which any marketeer worth his/her salt will be able to spin as the greatest move ever for the smartphone.

Come on...

Apple has 3GS, and 4S.

Samsung also can... They called it S IV but in your heart, just treat it as S IIIS.

But in Apple's case, the 's' version looks exactly identical to its predecessor. Hence the analogy is flawed. S4 has a bigger screen vis-a-vis s3. At most we can say the design is similar like that of IP4s to IP5 but not identical.

Design was important. I am looking and hoping Samsung will fail this time and not meet targeted sales,

This will be the only way Samsung will wakeup and reconsider design was important.

Maybe for easier reading. After reaching III, some people will start confusing next was IV or VI.

ppl will still blindly buy samsung ,and samsung s4 just made its way to the headlines of a chinese newspaper this morning...

Right now most game developer doesn't talk about HD 1080p but more towards creating new era gaming world based on s4 feature "eye tracking systems".

They are very keen to utilise it as next game controler and also can work closely with samsung dev. on it. Imagine game like shootings game can aiming targets using our eyes before we pull the trigger.. when think on it, awesome...

thought the eyeball thingy uses the front camera?
How would you aim with it?

Sniper gun always come with cross image it's.. that what I'm refer to.. that not only game developer think at this moment but more than that..

what im saying is that it is definitely not possible with the current technology in s4 now..as the smart pause and smart scroll thingy is based on the front camera registering your eyeball( i.e. whether it is looking at the screen or not) it cannot tell where the eye is looking at on the screen..

besides that,there are news that this technology will come to the s3 as well..so if it does come to s3,we can conclude that it is not hardware dependent..just need a front camera and you can have smart scroll and smart pause..

Yes it true, they try to develop in diff way.. s4 front camera + screen + eyes = smart scroll/pause... using s4 platform and change or add, like front camera + eyes + game control = game console..

Yes is not hardware but software that work & read our eyes movement using front camera.

since apple got no new inovation samseng got nothing to copy.. everyone knows korean technology is based on reverse enginering.. they haf nonreal innovation

Technology, and Science in general, is built upon the shoulders of those that came before. Science aims to make achievements reproducible and improvable.

I see the innovation in the more powerful hardware with a larger battery and slimmer form factor, although I'd happily trade 2mm for a larger battery.

Sigh. Nowadays if you read through some tech blogs or forums, when it comes to Apple vs Samsung, the comment are definitely Samsung-bias. When Apple wins a lawsuit, they complained like there is no tomorrow. When Samsung wins, then they'll say it's a fair just, even if they know nothing about the detail of the lawsuit.

Just hope one day HTC/Sony and other Android OEM can catch up and split the market share evenly.

Even 'Iphone' trademarks also copy from Brazil enterprise, half bake FACETIME also copy from US enterprise, half bake SIRI copy China & so on...

Now Samsung came with eyes tracking system, maybe next Apple will came with NOSE or EAR tracking system & it was the most innovative... wtf...

Same goes to iPhone 5 where slimmer physical size is already a lot of creativity involves. Just typical consumer like us won't really see it.

Everybody is copying each other. Just the matter of how you copy and how smart you copy. When Chinese come out with any products that look slightly similar with some existing products, everybody say Chinese copy but not the Korean or Japanese or even Taiwanese.

totally agree. the apple vs Samsung legal case helps Samsung a lot. plus Samsung own's massive marketing adds up to it too. go talk to most people. Samsung is almost synonymous to Android. that's the reason why they are strong. did u ever see Sony vs iOS ad, ever?
