No benefits and cannot be stop until you divorce your wife or she passes away
But if she passes away and she nominated a plumber you also cannot fight in court as all her EPF money goes to the plumber

Haha. But I really don't think she can nominate a plumber... If epf CS is doing their job.

I've asked before when I first nominated someone. Must be related somehow to the member...

MOF: Top-up savings from EPF members hit RM14.13b in first eight months of 2025

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 28): The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has collected a total of RM14.13 billion in top-up savings from members from January to August this year, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said.

These additional, voluntary contributions came from 1.12 million members, according to the MOF in a written parliamentary reply on Tuesday.

Under a scheme introduced on June 1, 2023, EPF members are allowed to top up their retirement savings with as much as RM100,000 annually as part of the government’s efforts to encourage Malaysians to boost their retirement savings. EPF members were previously allowed to add up to RM60,000 only.

The MOF was responding to questions from Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal, who had asked about the government’s plans to encourage more Malaysians to open EPF accounts and benefit from its high dividends.

The ministry said it had implemented several initiatives and enhancements under Budget 2025 to strengthen retirement savings, including expanding voluntary contribution schemes and increasing matching incentives.

Among the measures introduced was an improvement to the i-Saraan programme, with the government’s matching incentive raised from 15% to 20%, capped at RM500 a year and RM5,000 lifetime per individual.

“In the first half of 2025, i-Saraan recorded total contributions of RM2.8 billion from 487,375 members, up 74% from RM1.6 billion and a 48% increase in membership compared with the same period last year,” the MOF said.

The ministry added that the i-Suri programme, which offers a 50% government matching incentive capped at RM300 a year and RM3,000 lifetime, will continue in 2025 for housewives under 55 years old registered in the e-Kasih database.

Meanwhile, under the i-Sayang programme, husbands can voluntarily contribute 2% of their monthly EPF (employee share) savings into their wives’ accounts. As of August 2025, a total of 158,000 husbands had participated, involving RM309.4 million in contributions.

Additionally, 227,000 EPF members who are employed have opted to contribute more than the statutory employee contribution rate of 11%, further strengthening their retirement savings, the MOF said.

I thought it was 2% of my total contribution to EPF

manatau reading the FAQ is 2% of the employer contribution

which is even more confusing

coz the calculation shown is 2%/11%.. so around 18% of employer or approximately 9-10% of total contribution

Let us decide what's the EPF withdraw age...

Don't need to increase to 65yo.... Maintain status quo is good 👍

somemore the world bank wants to set "the withdrawal age between 65 and 70".

ops.... looks like my early comments in this and in the other epf thread a few weeks ago were just a bit too early.

(for those above 40, the bigger risk isn’t this threshold at all — it’s whether EPF decides to "align" with a future retirement age of 65. If that happens, don’t be shocked if 55/60 withdrawal ages quietly get shifted up too.)

And let’s not ignore the elephant in the room: the very real push to raise the official retirement age to 65. If that happens, what’s stopping EPF from saying, “For consistency, withdrawals only at 65”? Not exactly a wild stretch, right?

So, may as well get it done and over with and just implement it for everyone starting 2026. devil.gif

Normal lorh...

If can, 50yo want full withdrawal.... Or like during COVID-19 time.... Special withdrawal....

As for that rm500...
It's credited directly into account 1.... No split like self or mandatory contribution...

Why I got feeling....
To minimize backlash....

Only applies to new EPF members???
Like the proposed EPF annuities scheme thingy....

Existing members have options to opt or not 😑

It's mentioned start withdrawal from 65...

So basically.... Proposal is No more 50yo & 55yo withdrawal....

So 50 to 65 for partial

60 to 70 for Full ????

Was having similar thoughts as you, but then the tone of the article is sounded slightly impatient (about aging society) and the suggestions of only starting withdrawal from 65...
It is as if Malaysia really need to reign in the withdrawals by those members between 50 to 65... and in the same time asking for official retirement age to be pushed to 65 asap.

If they do know something that we don't (maybe the world bank have some super powderful statistical tool or forecasting method), it would make sense to force the issue and just make the changes on everyone by 2026.
