QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 20 2017, 10:50 AM) Ahha, yes, I think I saw a "9" figure too. Do you still remember where is that article? Not sure where I saw the 9 bill figure... Scary thought came to mind just now. Even with 47 billion, we get only 5.7% How much do they need in the future to give 6+%? I will try to study the % with annual find size and see how much that has influenced the final %. So trying to get the yearly EPF fund size. But now I see the star stated 8b figure |

Hmm maybe before that negative returns Perhaps, share records for the past 10 years. For any investment, there always ups & downs... No investment have been up up / positive forever unless there's some "smoother" income thingy ie. C/fwd income to bad years... |

In order to reap the most out of self contribution of RM 60000/year , would it make any difference to deposit that money in December rather than in January?

Definitely yes. Why? The div is calculated on daily basis. You start getting the div the day you put it in. So the earlier you put it in, the more div you will get. |

QUOTE(netmask8 @ Feb 19 2017, 11:00 PM) Singapore CPF 2.5% ordinary account vs Malaysia EPF 5.7% , since many peoples here always like to compare. CPF special account= ?? https://heartlandboy.com/how-to-optimise-si...-account-early/ After finishing 1x small HDB mortgage, nothing much left in CPF.. Same goes to FD interest rates here are better YIELD. Higher Singapore CPF Contribution only got 2.5% yearly DIVIDEND . Employees CPF Contribution 20% and Employers 17% Total = 37% SGD Malaysia EPF got 5.7% DIVIDEND . Employees EPF Contribution 8% or 11% , while Employers 12 % ( > rm5K) / 13% ( < rm5K) . Total = ? RM Yet Malaysia EPF (Employee/Employer) contribution is smaller and yet is getting higher YIELD ROI than Singapore CPF higher contribution . https://www.cpf.gov.sg/employers/employergu...llocation-rates Fixed Deposit (FD) rate in Singapore is also low. Suppose depositors expect higher YIELD ROI , right ? This post has been edited by netmask8: Feb 20 2017, 12:39 PM |

Yes, gold and other precious metals were at low on Nov 2015 and peak on Sept 2016, you got 18% ROI. How about your records in year 2012 - 2015? Need to have consistently Did ANYONE invest in gold in 2002? I did........ Good ROI reports, not only year 2016. I just started bought some precious metals counters in USA in July 2015. |

Some earlier years, I had as high as 300% returns on my mining stocks! |
