Just to recap, whatever amount that is gonna be declared as dividend in about 2 weeks is only gonna reflect for last year's statement . Correct ?
So if one puts in 60K this week, the returns for this 60K will only be based on next year's declaration of dividend rate?

The way EPF pays dividend is slightly different.
It is not like the final balance of 2016 will be paid at full rate.
Just Google around and you'll find the EPF mechanism.

Okay thanks.

In order to reap the most out of self contribution of RM 60000/year , would it make any difference to deposit that money in December rather than in January?

Definitely yes.

Why?

The div is calculated on daily basis. You start getting the div the day you put it in. So the earlier you put it in, the more div you will get.

Great. Something to consider then this month.

Morning bro,... sorry for the late reply,..

Well,... Off the top of my head, don't really want to count and count, just plucking figures from my records and tracking tables only,..... better to focus my counting with NXX Bank now since they are offering me to volunteer for some writeups,....

Taking the ref from last year, using my Ringgit Msia which I have managed to convert into the Aussie Dollars,...

1) I think from foreign exchange , I would have made 10% till now.
2) this morning, I saw my Aussie portfolio giving me 2.21% green, so,.. 2.21% times current exchange rate of 3.30 vs the RM = 7.293% in my portfolio.
3) my average yield in my Aussie portfolio 6.76%, but till now, I would have collected only 1.8%.

Hence, in Ringgit Malaysia terms, I would have made 10% + 7.293% + 1.8% = 19.093%, if I am to convert back today !

Is this a good way to count, bro ?

Impressive.

Limit for self contribution via M2U is RM5000 , managed to deposit, whereas via PBEOnline, I managed to deposit RM5500 without issues. Any idea what is the limit using PBEOnline?

Can't we deposit one sum of RM60k in one year?
*
We can but there is a daily limit using online maybank banking which is RM5000/day. Was wondering what the limit is for depositing via public bank online banking.

M2U allows RM5K to be transferred at any one transfer - so have to do 12 transfers in a day to reach the RM60k voluntary contribution.

it's NOT RM5k a day limit.  smile.gif

Great, thanks for that update. So , no issues with transferring RM60K in a day? Or is there a limit of RM30K/day? Does it follow the IBG limit?

Any difference if you bank in end of the month? Some forumer mentioned earlier that dividend will be effective from end of the month onwards, and  it will calculated on daily rest thereafter?
*
But if the amount gets reflected early march or mid of march , then wouldn't it be considered as 1 day's interest ?

I checked using my iPhone app , logged into I-akaun and tapped on mini statement 2017 . Scroll all the way down and it's clearly stated for self contribution.

For yr reading pleasure. Events from a few years ago :-

NEW YORK – Quietly, as the looming possibility of a U.S. military attack on Syria dominated news internationally, the government of Poland announced a decision to confiscate half of the nation’s pension funds in an attempt to delay an impending government debt crisis.

While details remain hazy, Reuters reported Sept. 4 that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced a government decision to transfer to ZUS, the government pension system, all bond investments in privately owned pension funds within the state-guaranteed system.
