NO, the trigger amount set by OCBC is higher than RM10. You can set your own trigger amount. The form can be obtained at 1st post.

The EPP PAYMENT not entitled to the rebate, but the original purchase does.

E.g. u buy things worth RM1200 and convert to EPP
U will get RM1200 x 1% = RM12 rebate on the month u make the purchase
But zero rebate on the instalment

Get what I mean?

Yes, 100%. Thank you so much. Btw, the 1% is only an example right? It can be 5%?

Hi,

(1) Anyone here have had experience paying credit card exceeds the actual amount, but the extra balance is not shown in the next statement.

i.e:

CC : RM2092, we paid RM 2100 on DD. Balance RM 8, why RM 8 not shown in statement ??

(2) what happen if we paying CC on DD, but the transaction only appear the next business day? any interest/late payment will be charges?
*
(2) Ocbc, Citi banks and most likely other banks allow 1-2 days after DD without charging late payment...

(1) IF you logged on to OCBC Online Banking Portal, you should see Overpaid(RM8.00)

(2) OCBC should be ok with 1-2 days grace.... HLB is not forgiving at all. Always pay 1-2 days earlier to be EXTRA SAFE.

yes, will show Overpaid RM 8.00, but not printed in current statement right? so every time customer paid extra, we need to calculate manually for next actual mount on DD. am i right ?

This question may sound stupid but I need to know. How do you guys actually know which places offers 1% or 5% cashback? You call the bank and ask? Ask the cashier? Or?

alternatively, keep track of all ur transactions per month, and put in what u think is 5% and 1% and compare with the rebate when u get the statement. if there's difference, try to move those transactions around until u get it consistent, then u'll know which is which

Next month statement will capture overpaid amount and thus no need to calculate manually actual amount to be paid...

That means one can only know what's the % like after the card has been swipe. Unless I make a call before the usage itself.

So what I should do is to just call the CS, tell them the name of the place where the card is use and they'll give me the MCC code?

They don't have a giant list of all places in Malaysia.... can only know after swipe. Quite rare to have things that are actually within category but different MCC (I think only department shop eateries and Eu Yan Sang type of place). Keep track of this thread will find out one.

Otherwise, can just assume petrol + dining + bills (except some majlis perbandaran) will be 5%

Do you budget? If you budget but don't keep track of spending then what's the point? If you don't budget then hope you earn a lot =)

Yeah. I've been checking out this thread just to see what's in and what's out. I've just gotten this card like 3 weeks ago, so still trying to learn the "art" of using it efficiently. To be honest, I don't even know what's MCC code before this. rclxub.gif Will definitely keep track to identify which is which.

Of course I do keep track of my spending. But to do this "put in what u think is 5% and 1% and compare with the rebate when u get the statement. if there's difference, try to move those transactions around until u get it consistent, then u'll know which is which" ---> a little troublesome. But oh well, if I really would want to know, I have to do it somehow. Thanks btw

Some finance management software can help, or just use Excel, easiest.

Actually if you're not a big spender (my bill average is about 500-900 each month) then its very easy, maybe less than 20 transactions only. Of those, some are obviously 1%, and since OCBC tells you how much of your rebate is 5% and how much is 1% you can just subtract those from the 1% and see if there's any 'unexpected'.

Honestly, for me is free money and I've stopped calculating since doing that a few months. Almost never have any 1% (except for things I know about already).

I think you got this card about the same time as me, but to me this card is more on petrol + pay bills. So, I'm pretty sure I have 5% for all the transaction done with the card since after the RM50 cashback is capped, I will not swipe it. For retail transaction, I will use other cards.
