However, due to the format limitation, sometimes you will find you cannot play MKV files on Galaxy Note 2 or missing audio when enjoying MKV movies on Galaxy Note 2. So how if you want to get these 1080p/720p MKV videos playable on your Galaxy Note 2? Get frustrated? Here you'll find the best solution. The reason you cannot get MKV videos working on Galaxy Note 2 is simple: the default and downloaded Android Video player on the Note II cannot find a suitable decoder for the codec in the MKV file. To solve these problems, a great method is to convert MKV to Galaxy Note II compatible video formats along with some help from third-party tools. The above statement is quoted by: Cannot support mkv videos on Note 2I am not sure, whether this is true or not.

QUOTE(sai86 @ Feb 7 2013, 11:49 AM) wta, can note 2 to be connect by external hdd by using usb otg cable? if yes, any require procedure need to be done? Theoretically, yes it can... But bare in mind that some external HDD requires external power to power up the HDD... Note 2 with USB OTG cable might not able to power up the external HDD but u can give it a try...

QUOTE(sai86 @ Feb 7 2013, 12:07 PM) okie. tq and frutie as well for the info. try it 2nite. I have bought an USB hub from China, superb stuff at only RMB 18 (If I'm not mistaken). It can power up 1TB external HDD, tried before but not on my Note II as I know it won't work... Mine is in NTFS format. Plugged in the hub into my OTG, I can use mouse and keyboard at the same time.

Agreed that MX player is very good.
But when i used it to view MTV in my car pairing bluetooth with the sound system. When disconnected it seem that the Media server is still running, which caused battery drain. I had to clear the data for mx player to solve this issue. Not sure if its caused by the app, my car player or its just me.
As for browser, I prefer Dolphin browser. The only issue i faced so far is when typing a post in LYN forum, sometimes when i press the backspace the text insertion point will fly to somewhere further top, erasing the text that i don't mean to. Any way to fix this?

QUOTE To clear your default "Open with" or "Action" app (eg you have set mp4 files to only always open with MXPlayer) Go to Settings > Application Manager > APPNAME > Clear defaults also work with launcher??

I'm being fair here. He/she said as if converting the video is the only way to play mkv on Note 2. Whereas we can use, and always use other apps to play mkv.
This positron is like not using this Note 2 at all.

Getting Started

|
To be honest i am yet to try the stock video player to play .TP files, which is higher bitrate than MKV i suppose. But with MX player it play smoothly, so IMO we no need to do those converting etc... p/s: just tried it, stock player cant play TP files, else i can have my video play in popup window...
