since we are on the topic of stock browser, the main reason i don't use it is because it is quite dimmed. i know i can control the brightness but if i adjust the brightness of the browser, it overrides my original phone brightness. i don't like that. and it seems like there's a blue filter over the screen. only when i'm using the browser. anyone experiencing this? any workarounds?  notworthy.gif

Disable your power saving mode. This should solve your problem.

try the latest 1.12RC7 from xda

Thanks for that...

FF is all good except:
1) If typo, it is a PITA to change the word. The cursor doesn't seem to be that responsive. Not sure if it is user's issue.
2) No auto capitalization. For the first letter of a paragraph or after full stop.

Any remedy?

actually, some of the Samsung added stuffs on note 2 is quite good.

pop up browser. the pop up video player -- but i have to say... Dice (i think, or was it MX Player) also have this function and can even resize. but the stock apps are quite well integrated. they feel integrated.... biggrin.gif

sadly, cannot agree with that statement.

one of the first few things i did when i got my Note 2 was to test the video player. copied a 16GB (i think) movie. if you must know, FullHD X-Men First Class. audio was not there. recall seeing some error about the audio.

but it was OK with MX Player. So i have two video players on my Note 2. Default is stock video player. But where the stock can't play, then i will use MX Player.

In my opinion there are a few good popup video players on the market:
1) Super Video
2) Popcorn Player

So far so good. Might be perfect for a casual user (which I am one).

Unfortunately, sorry I have to refute your statement..
The stock player plays almost all kinds of video formats.
Unfortunately, it doesn't suport mkv files and DTS audio..
Anyone have tried to play mkv and DTS audio on stock player yet?
As far as I know DTS audio not supported.
The last time I tried mkv format also cannot play..
Like I said about 100 post before this, DTS audio even MX player now cannot play..
So I guess BS Player or VLC beta player is the best bet for now in my opinion.

err... that file i tested was MKV. and yes, i think had DTS. but very sure i had both video and audio. that test i did was just 2 weeks back, i think.

anyway, i'm more than happy... oh wait... dang... dun have that much space on my 32GB note 2 <--- heh heh... bragging a bit la... wink.gif

installed a few games liao...

anyway, i'll try to look for smaller file and feedback. worst case... i use my old microSD card to test... but will probably take a few days to go look for it, etc...

Me for MKV file.
Works with stock player even when I was still on stock ROM.
