You could put NAS near your pc, media player does not need gigabit to play the movies from NAS.
My NAS is connected to my media player using homeplug, I don't see any playback issues.

Is it happening at all devices or only a particular device?
Can you run a software like InSSIDer(PC/Mac) or Wifi Analyzer (Android/iOS) to check if there is interfering channels and reconfig if necessary?
*
It's happening to all devices. My family members use Samsung phone, iPhone, iPad...all with the same result. I thought it could be because my neighbor renovated his house so the design of the house might block wifi reception but then I see the signal's strong as ever so it couldn't be that. I'm really baffled...I downloaded network analyzer but don't really know how to use it...

To those who using GOOGLE DNS... can you connect to internet with the DNS now? (8.8.8.8-8.8.4.4)

It seems rejecting this DNS since today... revert to default DNS no problem connecting internet...

Hmm, using the network analyzer check which wireless network it can detect around you that is conflicting in frequency (channel), and change the channel in your router if possible. If all our devices support wireless N; change your router to N-only mode; then use WPA2-PSK with AES cipher only for best speed and stability... all else fails, reset the router to factory and reconfigure it from scratch if possible, if problem persists it's probably time for a new router

is it on/working while its missing or missing without battery ?
if still on and working press the button on the deck of the phone holder , then follow the sound where u can find it .
Think there's on replacement for the phone only , might as well get the whole set smile.gif
