The only reason icly want to use the expensive TL-SL2210WEB is because it can perform vlan trunking, splitting or combining the two vlan 500 & 600.This post has been edited by kimyee73: Apr 27 2013, 07:39 AM

QUOTE(lcly @ Apr 27 2013, 01:32 AM) If no all in one solution. I prefer your advise. Haha. Just i need to give up a cable for pc and buy a wifi adapter for it. I have used n56u and n66u, both work with unifi but you cannot configure trunking in the way you are thinking. All VLAN is untagged at the switch ports.Asus rt-56u and 66u is unifi ready right? Their lastest firmware already supported? Just read through all the posts related to unifi and quite interested with n56u.
I got some questions here about the dual band wifi setting. If refer to the klseet.com, there got 2.4ghz and 5ghz setting for wireless, Is it we can configure the both dual band wireless in the modem and all the wireless devices will be connected according to the wifi spec? Or just only can configure either 1 wireless band, which is 2.4ghz or 5ghz? |

QUOTE(lcly @ Apr 27 2013, 01:28 AM) If like this i need to pull a new cat6 cable for this setup. My fiber modem, router,PC is at 1st floor; my ps3, media player and iptv is at ground floor. The problem is i need to hack wall to put the new cable, otherwise look no good. >_< When i get another STB, same i need to pull a new cable for that room too, if a switch can do all, i can just simply configure to make STB work on other room. Since I don't want to hack wall to install new network cable, I bought 2 Vlan capable manage switches and a set of homeplugs that support vlan signal to deliver the signal(VLAN 600 and VLAN 1) from 1st floor to ground floor. Works fine for long time already. The pro VLAN switches allows me to use any router I want. No need to hack wall. All your devices are wired. You can make wireless on seperate vlan for better security. The cons: More device to take care. More $ spend. The cheapest VLAN capable switches costs about rm250. my friend not yet one month subscribe to streamyx, already experiencing random daily of disconnections. dsl blinking, sometimes can't even login. if he cancel now and with proof of line unstable, can he waived the penalty rm350 early cancellations? if cannot, must escalate this matter to consumer complaint malaysia right?
