Live widget will contribute power usage. So i dont use live wallpaper and widget. That will reduce battery consumption as well. Besides that ,I use task manager to constantly kill app. Another tips, turn off bluetooth and wireless if not use
I think it's probably an app or widget that's responsible for excessive power drain. Ever since the 4.2.2 update, my battery life has improved, and the only thing I turn off is bluetooth. Wifi, location services, auto update (for Google apps only), gmail and weather widget are always on for me.I took these screenshots yesterday.
94% remaining after 16 hours, and my screen was on for 1 hour (auto brightness). Didn't browse web, but used maps a bit (looking for an appointment location for tomorrow) and also played a few Dead Trigger missions, as you can see in the first shot. Overall I think it's pretty good power consumption, especially considering my device is one of the oldest (I was one of the earliest here to get it, less than one month after release) and has gone through a lot more charge/discharge cycles. Mine is wifi-only though, so maybe 3G versions are worse.
One tip I'd give to people is to disable Google Currents sync if they don't use it. I notice a big improvement in battery life and performance if Currents is not synching in the background. I also disable Google Drive sync because I don't use it, but I don't know if that really affects anything or not.
