Test everything and see whether there's any defect before buying, and also, look at the box carefully
It seems too good to be true, but I think he is reliable since he had a shop

i'm guessing upgrade ram by replacing ram module on the n7?

All my data is gone as i need to flash to factory stock and unroot. Previously root on stock rom cannot update. So no choice to do this step. After factory stock. Then apply an update and use the link method. So far so good and without issue. Realise google play is a bit different and toggle stuff. But stickmount still working after root is the most important. notworthy.gif

should have a way to not flash stock 4.2.1..hmm

For those who need an app to extract the system.img files, etc, use this tool:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921399

I managed to get the power.grouper.so from the stock 4.2.1 system.img and am flashing 4.2.2 now..

BTW i managed to upgrade from 4.2.1 stock rooted with custom kernel to stock 4.2.2 (maintaining root) by doing this:

1. Use Voodoo OTA Rootkeper to backup your root and temporarily unroot.
2. Revert back to stock kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34254473
3. Revert to original power.grouper.so, extract system.img from google's 4.2.1 full 200mb+ original firmware and extract using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921399. It's in /system/vendor/lib/hw
4. Get the new 4.2.2 update: http://android.clients.google.com/packages...0D.6ece895e.zip
5. Flash with custom recovery (I used TWRP at the time)
6. Reboot. Use voodoo ota rootkeeper to restore backup SU to get back root.
7. Flash TWRP or CWM using fastboot mode or you can use the Nexus 7 toolkit via menu option 11 (just choose 4.2.1 when prompted with firmware version, don't worry, option 11 will work with 4.2.2 too)

Done smile.gif

Note: If you're on Custom ROM the above won't work for obvious reasons tongue.gif

If we update via ota, then our root will gone and no root cannot use supersu
*
That's the point i mention in no 6 - use voodoo ota rootkeeper to restore the supersu which is root...you have to backup first using the same app before you update, then restore it using the same app after update to 4.2.2...

Can I just directly flash and use ota root keeper to backup my root?
*
As others said, all you need to do is follow my instructions provided you are on stock 4.2.1 rooted..if you're on custom ROM my instructions won't work for obvious reasons.

The update zip is only a update file not a full rom . So you must be on 4.2.1 stock first

Bingo. I've updated my original post to make sure no confusions there tongue.gif

My nexus 7 is rooted with twrp recovery installed. Received 4.2.2 update via ota. Protect the root with ota rootkeeper and try to update via ota. Whenever after update, it will prompt me back to TWRP RECOVERY menu, then i reboot as per normal. However, after verify, it was not updated to 4.2.2..anything wrong? please guide me...
*
see my instructions 1-2 pages back..i was using TWRP too but dont update via the auto update, it might not work..my method is to manually get the update zip file and install it using TWRP.

thanks for fast feedback, i saw..means i still need to revert back to stock kernel?
How do I revert back to stock kernel and original power.grouper? Flash it via TWRP Recovery as well?

Im on stock ROM so i would like to follow your steps..
*
my instructions has the link to stock kernel which you can download and flash it..the filename starts with CWM (clockworkmod) but you can flash it with TWRP, no worries...for power.grouper just put it in the folder i mention using apps like root explorer or es file explorer...

just unlock n root my nexus 7 4.2.1 using NRT.. n flash file to enable tethering hotspot.. biggrin.gif

btw.. if i want to return to stock, just click the button in NRT right? do i have to download any stock firmware?? n what is tilapia and nakasig? mine is tilapia.. can i flash nakasig?
*
tilapia = codename for nexus 7 3g. nakasi = codename for nexus 7 wifi. You cannot flash nakasi firmware without possibly bricking your device or cause some other weird problem.

I have to use volume rocker to adjust the volume, i cannot adjust using the touchscreen. When i use the touchsreen, nothng happen. Mine is unrooted. No indicatioon of any error when updating.
*
dont understand..when u say you cant adjust using touchscreen, where do you adjust it? settings dialog? or do you mean press volume +, then use the slider onscreen to adjust? mine can, no problem...try check if you have some other volume mod apps installed, that could possibly conflict also..

weird..no idea then..if the volume button still works as it is (really + increases and - really decreases the actual volume), then just ignore this small thing la..unless u really use it a lot..try asking around xda developers forum
