wah where u go oh? sounds happening. your long holiday sure long. up to one months ah?! hopefully its still kicking by next year. hahaha.

actually mine look pretty healthy la other than runny nose. i've seen worse. like mdb. actually the 1st tortoise i bought suffer from mbd. then research punya research then realize its a terrible illness. then immediately change with the store and now i have this leopard. hopefully this one can make it till old. actually i take tortoise as pet bcz i know i will die b4 them. i had cats and dogs b4. those were max 10++ and they die of old age. pretty sad. so decided to have tortoise. tortoise dont seems boring. i've seen videos where they can be annoying to their owner. keep chasing their owner. which is fun. but so far only seen sulcata do this. others seems like graze all the time.

Anyone knows where to buy river terrapin at the size of the palms about 5/6inch at a cheap price? Or perhaps anyone of you are letting go your terrapins? Planning to get 5 of them. By the way, any idea which is the cheapest breed or tortoise/turtle/terrapin to get started of with?

Sorry for late reply.

I saw them on youtube and tot they would be cool if can get them for my RES. Yes, my RES should be max out in size now. I'm in Sarawak.

I did consider koi pond but at the moment no plan to build one. I'm a koi guy mainly and used to have a 2000 liter pond which was demolished cos my mother superstitious. But one day i will rebuild bigger and better location within my house area. Save money first. Perhaps if that day ever come. Maybe build a separate pond for the RES which are not recommend to keep with koi. Problem with RES is they have soooo much waste. I keep them in a old bath tub outside under shade with only 1 inch of water, to make it easier to change water once or twice a day. Makes good ferterlizer, lol. If really do make pond, filtration cleaning will be a very heavy chore, so i tot a tub where i can just change water daily will be easier than wash filter chamber. Having gout doesn't help either as prevent me to do very strenuous chore.

Maybe i just find one of those quarantine tank for koi and mod it with drain and add some basking area. Daily dump and add water could be easier to care for the pet.

Bro,

I hope you are breeding it and releasing back these endangered species. Behind my land in Terengganu we have the painted and southern river terrapin.

Sam,

I had been lurking in the forum for some time and you are an inspiration to me. I am a conservationist by heart and I am trying to breed Manouria Emys Emys now, after I breed too many, I will release some back to the wild.

Guys,

I picked up a tortoise which was trying to cross a busy road during the weekend. Since I have no experience with a tortoise before, do I need to give it any special attention? It is currently roaming freely in my garden and takes shelter under a patch of sugarcane.

Thanks in advance. biggrin.gif
