i think he is refering to the big scar@opening at the center abdomen there...
*
That opening is its navel - did you notice some " redness" near the " opening/scar "

Thats why I ask for more information - don't want to jump to anything !!

i've been following since V4 since i got my turtles, and would like to contribute, but i don't have the experience to share since i'm still very much a beginner.

i have had my fair share of turtle mishaps and death as well...but so far surviving.

in my collection now are 2 RES, 1 musk and 1 yellow-spotted
*
Nice , any pictures - can share ? You do know that the yellow-spotted will max out bigger than the other 2 sp in your collection !!

Just sharing my post in primitive fish thread

Casualty in turtle tank : The pump wire being bitten by Fly the PNT. Naughty guy indeed. When i touched the water, it feels like an electric shock! I tried several times and still the same. Tell u.. it hurts. Surprisingly the PNT and all feeder fishes seem normal, no sign of stress let alone shocks.

I tried to nurse the wounded wire by applying thick tapes, but to no avail, still feels electricity in water. Well, maybe its time for a new pump. Or i'll just use normal powerhead pump (for top filters). Lower flowrate though sad.gif

Currently on powerhead pump :

They dont really feel anything due to them not connected to " earth wire " we are standing on the ground thus the " shock " pass thru us to go underground !!

Water has sipped thru the breakage into the wire , u need to dry the whole thing for at least a week before reusing if not you will still feel the shock !! Getting a new pump is still best choice .

Why dont you try pandanus fruits ( naturally occuring ) or some figs - actually most fruits thats " colourfully enough " are eagerly taken !!

The first pic of leaves with pointed edges looks like sweet potatoe leaves if so ok to feed but better not as staple !!

[attachmentid=3312816]
The second picture is of greater plantain - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantago_major
Great fiber and the calcium ratio is good but some tortoise dont really like it i use 1-2 times weekly !!

Cheers

Too many thing may cause it - Non-eating , sickness , water temperature ...........!!

Looks good ? except for the slightly swollen eye ?

There's growth meaning it was eating before you got it - care to show or narrate a bit on where the whole setup is placed ?

im a beginner.. not sure is this tank good enough for them..
since im living in hostel plus small room.. there is no space to put a larger tank.. >.<
*
Tank setup is good - filter , water and basking now another piece of vital information that may br the cause !

Aircond in room ? Or celling fan on top of tank ?

hi guys.. is this some kind of disease? the 1 i that i just bought hve this on his shell.. and his shell kinda soft too.. when i ask the seller.. she say "SALIN KULIT"..
is it true? and the one that i hve been petting for 2 weeks.. start to hve this symptom too..
is there any cure? >.<
ASAP reply if anyone know about this..
*
Start of a type of " shell rot " will spread to all other turtles around sharing its enclosure !! End of last year and early this year import has that ( or at least 50% or more )

Need treatment if not the " white" will spread to almost 100% of the shell if the turtle did not die first !!

As these guys are still small and some of them still has shell that has not harden they dont really respond well to most if not any treatment !!

Cheers
