our 408 is as huge or bigger than a 407

407 LHW = 4676mm x 1445mm x 1811mm
408 LHW = 4680mm x 1525mm x 1815mm

i did a comparison before i ordered

so anything lower than 10L/100kms is considered very good

if you're expecting FC of a vios or city, this car is definitely not for you.

Actually dimension on paper is quite misleading. I never take those numbers at face value, but it does offer a good set of parameters for comparison. In contrast, the new Camry isn't very big dimension wise on paper compared to some other cars in the same segment, but yet it has one of the most cavernous cabin you can find in a non-premium market mid size sedan.

But I agree, I've been in the 408 before, and the rear seats are quite spacious.

Btw, I'm expecting the P408NA to have an FC that matches the current crop of Civic/Altis/Focus. It does have an award winning EW10A+ engine after all.

agree cool2.gif

fiesta has similar dimensions to the honda city and interior is so cramp and i hit my leg when i was checking it out at the showroom.

the older EW10 engines are very efficient. my colleague has a ulysse running at 8L/100kms for highways and 10-11L/100kms for town.

EW10A+ comes with VVT, it will be on par or even better i believe icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, this is an engine that is actually on par and better than the current gen 2ZR-FE Toyota Engine in terms of the kind of technology it offers. So it will be a good comparison between the 2.

Valvematic, variable valve timing, variable valve lift are just part and parcel of what the EW10A+ has. There's even a gasoline direct injection version of the EW10A+ engine which unfortunately has been phased out due to poor car sales.

The ash tray can hold my Samsung Note nicely. No need to buy in car phone holder.

Guys got some queries...

1) my note 2 can connect to the bluetooth system but I have to do it manually each time I enter and start up. Any way to make it auto connect?

2) when connecting my ipod to the usb port, it takes about 2 minutes before any song is played.  Anyone with similar problems?

Otherwise so far so goo.... albeit having the car for 5 hours... muahaha...

Yes, the seat becomes warm like as if it doesn't breathe. Never had such issue with Benz or Lexus leather seats. Anyone?

It happens between my iPhone and pug too, I need to reconnect each time I restart my pug. But i only need to do it on my phone which i alway turn on and off bluetooth to save battery so it,s not a real hassle. Also that's how it works normaly between phone with a Bluetooth ear pcs

Hi bro and happy CNY. Running this car on RON97 is a waste of money. The engine is tuned to run on RON87. So RON 95 is more than sufficient. Since your car is new, your present FC is normal. After the 10K service it will be better. Ofcourse good FC finally depends on your driving style! I'm slightly heavy footed and I now get 9.3L/100km city driving.

Actually RON97 does give a smoother ride and idle....but the co$t blink.gif

Anyway, I tried filling up with BHP 95....I'm loving it...seems like the best so far for me.

This probably is true with EP6CDT engine and friends of mine who drive 308t have said this too. However as EP6CDTM is tuned to run on RON 87,RON 97 makes absolutely no difference, other than a bigger hole in your pocket! I've been using RON 95 for the last 8months,the engine is smooth with perfect idle! Doesn't miss a beat! In fact my engine has gotten even more smooth over the period!

yes it's written in our user manual, minimum petrol requirement is 87 for our 408 1.6T
i've try out both 95 and 97, the difference is quite minimal, just slightly faster/earlier gear change

but the weird thing is i experience bad FC on 97 blink.gif

normally 100km with 1/4 tank 95
now only 80km with 3/8 tank 97

bhp 95 is good right? i'll try out next time nod.gif
