no wonder on the ad, for the 4mbps there's a small star there haha. Maybe for 4mbps, no HD channel? or maybe if someone streams 1080p YouTube, the TV will start buffering doh.gif

Just to share something to those kakibola in hypptv

QUOTE
TM, Astro seal deal on sports channel

Telekom Malaysia Bhd ™ has signed a deal with Measat Broadcast Network Systems to broadcast its Astro SuperSport HD and Astro SuperSport 2 HD channels, which will include the widely-followed English Barclays Premier League (BPL), on TM's HyppTV service.

Measat Broadcast Network is Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd's wholly-owned unit.

TM chief executive officer, Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, said the collaboration would see HyppTV carry more sports content, effective today.

He said TM acquired only selected BPL matches from Astro, and HyppTV would air six out of the 10 BPL matches on the Internet Protocol TV service (IPTV).

"The additional sports content will definitely boost our existing sports package, in keeping with our promise to deliver the best to our viewers, they can still watch TV when it rains," he told reporters after signing the agreement today.

Zamzamzairani said HyppTV, the fastest-growing IPTV service in the market, has now expanded its reach from only UniFi subscribers to Streamyx's four-megabit per second (Mbps) and eight-Mbps users, making it accessible everywhere on multi-screen devices.

"We are now having a promotion until end-September, whereby users can subscribe to our sports package for RM30 per month. For those who register after September, they will be charged RM50 per month.

"For current customers who are already on the RM30 a month package, there will be no additional charges," he said.

The IPTV service has a total of 110 channels, comprising 25 free-to-air channels, 49 premium channels, 16 video-on-demand genres as well as 20 interactive channels.

Following today's event, HyppTV's sport package would now offer 13 channels.-- Bernama

I am about wondering the same, in the hypptv faq it does stated something mention related to this

QUOTE
10.12. Why does the speed of my Internet connection drop when I use both my broadband & UniFi service at the same time?

This problem should not occur as the video service and Internet service are using different ‘channels’ in the network and are independent of each other. If problem persists, kindly contact our TM UniFi Centre hotline at 1-300-88-1222 and we will be happy to assist you.

QUOTE
10.14. How can I utilise the full bandwidth of my Internet access?

You will always be utilizing the full bandwidth capacity of your Internet access independent of whether you are watching HyppTV service or not.

thanks. My friend Unifi is using TM provided router, he said the TM contractor explicitly set one LAN port for hypptv, if I want to upgrade to 8M package, and using own router, is that ok?

Anyone here with 8Mbps Streamyx subcriber is using HyppTV? May I know the picture quality of HyppTV and any significant slowdown if using both Internet with PC/laptop and HyppTV at same time?

Is it worth to get the HyppTV STB because contract period will be extended from 1 year to 2 year.

Thanks.

It's Overall HyppTV offering which summary as:
8MB Streamyx Customer get the HyppTV set-top-box instantly.

It's also offering Optional HyppTV Everywhere if you are HyppTV Customer.

It's related to 8MB Streamyx Customer, the Promotion Leaflet is from TM and not by me.

TM will not want to waste money to design or print a leaflet just only for 8M Streamyx. This is overall information of who can enjoy HyppTV & who can add-on HyppTV Everywhere optional services.

IMO, rmb that 8mbps only have 512kbps upload speed and i believe that if u dont use any application like pps which constantly upload at maximum speed then it will not affect ur overall performance..

personal experience.

as what I heard from the forum other than LYN, the STB offered to streamyx users is much more advanced, have good wifi built-in and using android as well.

Here is our prasy's review about the unit http://prasys.info/2013/05/a-closer-look-a...mobile-devices/

Actually TM are bullshitting too all their customers claiming hypptv and internet connection are not shared separate line but actually indeed they are. Already asked my few friends using unifi 5mb package when they watch TV their connection going damn slow.

I am one of the trial user. biggrin.gif

Basically, its android, but its awfully slow, the interface are laggy.

Takes a while to change channel, browsing on the interface for TV guide is slow.

The original interface is okay but the HyppTV app is ridiculous, badly optimized.

One thing for sure, it support streaming from other device, which I love it tongue.gif

Shared but the HyppTV don't use plenty of bandwidth, not sure if HD or SD too.

I still get 8Mbit on speedtest
