went from 0.5 Mbps > 4 Mbps > 8 Mbps in 3 months.

Have to say, if you're in S'wak / Borneo stick with the 4Mbps !! barely any difference, most speedtests gives average of ~5mbps ... regardless if you're on 4 or 8 Mbps package 

Ping is also terrible. Every server is 200+ for BF3 ... TF2 has the occasional 50+ if Brunei hosts. Have contacted TMNet numerous times over the past 5 months but still getting the same speeds.

hey bro, i recently installed streamyx 8mb, utorrent can't work because of the streamyx policy. i suggest you to download Deluge. Although it is not stable for window, it still do the job. http://deluge-torrent.org/

wow how about the speed? i use utorrent/bit torrent average 30 kb/s xD usually it rocketed around 500-800 kb/s

I see, just wonder for earlier 8mbps subscribers (without the hypptv originally) like me entitled to get the set up box as the newly registration one or can I just get it from any TM points will do?

and you did apply 8Mbps?
if your hard cap still at 5120, with a 8Mbps account

I believe you have a constant average speed at around 565kB/s
with a 4Mbps account at 5120 hard cap

usually get average 475kB/s  and up to 565kB/s
unless they really can give you a hard cap more than 5120  maybe 6000-10000 then you may get 8Mbps

Upgraded to 4Mbps sometime Nov 2012, then got a call asking if I wanted to go 8Mbps.

I took up the offer and a TM contractor came to do the set up in Jan 2013. The modem config page shows a cap of 10Mbps. Not sure if this is the same as hardcap ?
