Currently I'm in my hometown, no throttle, but back in Malacca.. sometimes got throttle, sometimes no throttle  rclxub.gif
*
normally when my internet goes unthrottle, it usually lasts 2 weeks to a month then throttle again

but this time it gets unthrottle just before CNY, until today still unthrottle, hope this keep going rclxms.gif

based on my computer total traffic transfered report since installed, I have uploaded total 1.2TB and downloaded 3TB+

I have a friend who works in tm & he tells me they are throttling all streamyx accounts now. don't care if the account is 1mb, 2mb, 4mb or 8mb. they will throttle it.

you just told all the tmnut spy here, you are still not throttle. better prepare yourself for bad news.
*
dont have to prepare, its a known old bad news

they already did since years ago, just there's always some user not being throttled by chance and luck

due to their system problem or maybe during maintenance

not surprise if I'm being throttled again, nod.gif

if throttle kicks out once again on me, there is always a thing called VPN

but few 2 months back when i was 4mbps my utorren tdownload speed was around 100kbps to 300kbps lei....weird lo
*
what nymerine said is true

just take note that, it doesn't mean all area streamyx users have been p2p throttled

sometime by some chance if you get the ip address in some ranges that is not p2p throttled

that is why you get fast or max almost all the time everytime you download torrent

also take note that 512k/1Mbps/2Mbps usually share the same ip ranges, different with 4Mbps and 8Mbps

and that maybe why you may often get p2p throttled ip after changed packages

it doesnt mean you will not be able to get good ip anymore

im 4Mbps user, still able to get good ip and keep it as long as possible until next dc smile.gif

im max speed dl btw

went from 0.5 Mbps > 4 Mbps > 8 Mbps in 3 months.

Have to say, if you're in S'wak / Borneo stick with the 4Mbps !! barely any difference, most speedtests gives average of ~5mbps ... regardless if you're on 4 or 8 Mbps package  rclxub.gif

Ping is also terrible. Every server is 200+ for BF3 ... TF2 has the occasional 50+ if Brunei hosts. Have contacted TMNet numerous times over the past 5 months but still getting the same speeds.
*
where are you from?

and you did apply 8Mbps?

if your hard cap still at 5120, with a 8Mbps account

I believe you have a constant average speed at around 565kB/s

with a 4Mbps account at 5120 hard cap

usually get average 475kB/s and up to 565kB/s

unless they really can give you a hard cap more than 5120 maybe 6000-10000 then you may get 8Mbps

Upgraded to 4Mbps sometime Nov 2012, then got a call asking if I wanted to go 8Mbps.

I took up the offer and a TM contractor came to do the set up in Jan 2013. The modem config page shows a cap of 10Mbps. Not sure if this is the same as hardcap ?
*
hard cap will be the "Rate" statistic display in the modem page, Dlink,Aztech, TPlink .etc

for asus should be like this

HEC Up : 0
SNR Up : 23.7
SNR Down : 17.1
Line Attenuation Up : 20.2
Line Attenuation Down : 42.9
Data Rate Up : 509
Data Rate Down : 5120

so how is your speed? www.speedtest.net Cyberjaya test

and where are u from?

what does CRC mean?
*
cyclic redundancy check

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclic_redundancy_check

if talk about ADSL,

CRC is when a special checksum code is attached to each packet of data that is transmitted.

if you got packet errors, the part of that data you transmitted has errors

CRC error counts means number of error packets you get

if ur line quality is bad or got problem, you often get data transmitted errors, CRC error count will be very high

in example, my 4mbps line is stable, and I got 0 CRC packet received error, but has only 2 CRC packet sent error, which still mean very good, almost no problem

Don't think so, if we already received the modem during the past subscription we won't get any new modem, same goes to cordless phone.
*
in fact...

B4 upgrading from basic 1Mbps package to blockbuster 1Mbps, they gave me a modem, even though I already have my own better one.

last year upgrading from Blockbuster 1Mbps to Blockbuster 4Mbps, the contractor gave me another new tm modem,

I said I still got the previous TM modem still new in box, he said just take it,

I have two TM modems new in box now sweat.gif

Full speed ahead

BTW, maybe you guys can try different IP range
I use Deluge as my client which support full forced inbound encryption wink.gif
*
does that so called encryption ever work?

I remember i tried b4, same

still the only way to get uncap speed is some ip ranges.

or use VPN/seedbox

Get a torrent client that encrypt properly.
uTorrent is not.

115 is working fine
*
I'll give deluge another try

i prefer the way they save the files, similiar to utorrent

btw most of my content isnt chinese, from hk or china

so using xunlei or 115 maybe not good

tongue.gif

i love the old days when utorrent first introduce utp, great times to download

currently testing deluge on my workplace 1mbps

blink.gif working

will try my home 4Mbps later brows.gif

hmm.gif to hard to say.........how to place ekk.....just my suggestion n opinion....
1st..go to your friend hours/office.....call 100 to ask that area available on 8mpbs....
if can just ask them to open port to 10Mbps....and use your acc streamyx..so u can test...
*
don't think that will work, they will surely ask you ur 8Mbps account id, then do the hard cap port speed on the phone number that is registered with ur streamyx 8Mbps account (ur service number)

they know it on the spot by looking at your account info, cannot lie cool2.gif

btw

deluge encryption does not work, stay below 40kB/s

for some reason, my utorrent still better speed than deluge while still being throttled can raise up to 70kB/s

sigh, this makes me want to go back to VPN again sad.gif

maybe, as long as you got pay and not suspended

if you usually turn off modem when not using, and it is timebased problem, likely is being used by someone

I can confirmed that if you enabled ipv6 your usual ipv4 streaming youtube will be stuck at 512kbps no matter what you did, it wont go fast until u disable the ipv6 connection

No idea why, they shouldnt be related though
