I have been asked to attend the interview for RNP & Optimization Engineer position. I wonder if any senior would like to share some guides? What kind of working environment? Travel percentage?

Is this under MRO TSD?

Advice to those going for interview, please do not accept contract staff post.
I've seen them let go quite a few contract staff recently.

im a fresh grad and got an invitation to an interview on monday..thing is,im a degree holder in indutrial automation and robotics technology but am offered a post as datacom engineer..

browsing thorugh the jobscope,im quite confused on why they called me up since i seem to have zero knowledge on this particular field..and i think its a 1 year contract job..still very unclear about things, anyone mind sharing their experiences?

looks like i have alot to study regarding telcos..

Any Huawei staff here? I need your info on this.
I would like to know how often will you be at overseas? How long is the duration? Which countries? How much is the allowance?
I have one year experience in telco support environment but I would like to be involved in projects as im still young and would like to explore more. Noticed that mostly Huawei job ads states "Willing to travel overseas". Would like to know more on this.
May some Huawei staff give me some input?

Thanks you in advance! biggrin.gif

maybe because you're from IT background thats why they put u for VAS position. VAS is more on programming and OS such as linux or SUSE

To Sebrina,

It depends on what dept u r in. If you're in MRO (Malaysian region), you hardly travel overseas. But you still travel heavily within the country. 2-3 times each week if you are busy. In SP, yes. Global, yes. You travel depending in projects and I have friends from SP dept (South Pacific) based in Spore and US for months already.

Duration will depend on the project, until project finished or until your visa expired. Travel allowance depends on the country. If you travel to Indo, then yes, allowance can be lucrative, if to US where Msian ringgit is much lower, then well... cukup cukup la to survive, can't earn much..

But it also depends on your job scope. Some engineers don't travel as much, and some do. technical support travels a lot.
