QUOTE(0304125 @ Dec 30 2013, 02:54 PM) I see, I'm from melaka and I was in melaka last weekends as well, the traffic in Melaka during weekends are getting worst. Yes, too many traffic lights in Melaka. Anyway, there are not many straight leveled roads to test the acceleration of the Focus anyway. Apart from the curve road, if the road is slightly uphill(not exactly leveled), that may affect the acceleration time too I think, other than the method of measurement. Anyway, the acceleration and power of the Focus are certainly stellar. Not only 0 to 100km/h but 100km/h to near top speed. Not only that, I was speeding from one of the 20+ traffic lights before you reach simpang ampat toll, and the road was a bit curvy, not really a straight road, need to test it with more factors, perhaps a friend who can help you to time will be better too, cause somehow my hand and legs cannot be tally (maybe that's I can't dance also, lol) Hope bro Thanish can share some words here, cause I might want to give it a try too, can't accept the wind noise above 140km/h The tyres, can't do much till it's wore out and I'll try this yokohama Advan DB V551, heard a lot of good review on the quietness of this tyres. The grinding sounds for me are quite loud cause I drive up hill everyday, I'm trying to ignore it started to accept it as the characteristic of DCT Yes, can't do much about the tyres. The current tyres won't wear out so soon. Similarly I am eyeing the Yokohama Advan DBV551 but with the current escalating cost of living next year, will need to practice some moderation. Will try another RON97 topup before I switch back to RON95. Yes, I have accepted the grinding sound as it is. If driving uphill especially with speed bumps along the road(you have to drive slowly approaching speed bump and that is when the grinding sound will come up), then the grinding sound will be quite loud. |

QUOTE(pin86 @ Dec 30 2013, 03:04 PM) I believe the Titanium and Sports do not have the same tyres. If your tyres are Michelin then I guess you have the Focus Sports. Mine is the sedan and it comes with Goodyear Assurance FuelMax tyres. It is a budget to mid-level tyres more toward fuel economy and not really the quiet type of tyres. I think the Michelin tyres on the Sports may be quieter than the Goodyear tyres on the Titanium. |

QUOTE(0304125 @ Dec 30 2013, 10:04 AM) so the video of 0-100 in about 8s is based on ron97 I guess. I just tested yesterday on a traffic light, switched to sport mode, floor the acceleration and with timer on my phone, I only got about 10.5 seconds (in fact 11 sec, minus off 0.5 sec for started the timer before I floor)... You may want to try RON97 (2 tanks) and try again before the government decides to raise the price of petrol again next year which will further contribute to the spiralling in cost of living(next year is looking gloomy). I haven't really compared in detail, but with RON97 the acceleration feels effortless. It reaches 200km/h without breaking much sweat and the needle still keeps going up on the speedometer when you floor it. |

Anyone install "car brake lock system", where door will lock once we hit the brake? Or any others way then manually press the lock button? We all knew how safe is Malaysia...

about the noise... the rubber seal with 3m stickers.... eventually at first i felt it made some difference but as the mileage increase i find it the noise got worse..... so i;ve taken them out...
i believe it can make difference if we find the right place to use it... one more caution.... stick it at wrong place it makes the sound even worse aand potentially it even can make your door to lari from the door alignment as it may push the door if too much pressure due to the gap being filled with extra rubbers. i do made the mistake and i can feel that the door has a slightly bigger gap in between the back door and the front door. i don't think its worthy to use that rubber seal la. im getting used to it already. the great audio setup helps... :-) |

To achieve the 8.2 second, they turn off the Traction Control, tune to S level gear shift, start with optimized RPM and had a drag race track. Had different tyres and it was the hatchback version.
It was a optimized condition to achieve that. Still, if you peddle to metal, I think it can achieve around sub 10 seconds? You can see it by fast foward to 4:17 QUOTE(thefryingfox @ Dec 30 2013, 09:23 PM) No. that is not how it works. That is quite punishing to the brakes and will wear it off quickly since we need to press on the brakes AND the accelerator at the same time I guess, before we release the brakes as the car leaps forward at the touchline. Guess that is how a faster 0-100km/h time is obtained, instead of launching it from zero RPM.It was a optimized condition to achieve that. Funny if the sedan is getting Primacy LC tyres since my impression is all sedans from Thailand get the Goodyear. Perhaps the dealer at that particular Ford branch has swapped out the Goodyear for the Michelin Primacy LC? |

QUOTE(wishndream @ Dec 31 2013, 08:32 AM) Pin86, hv u received ur touch-up paint? i need it as well for my candy red. Intentionally scratched by someone i guess I found them on tao bao. But I have a problem with the import custom now. The seller is telling me that the package might be rejected by custom since it is liquid. Not sure why, maybe to prevent dangerous chemical to enter the country or bio-hazard? It can be shipped but with risk of being reject by the custom. But there's still hope to it, the shipping company says the custom normally checks on large parcel (10kg above, which also make sense). Will be shipping them in the next delivery probably a couple more weeks from now If u are in urgent need, u can try to get it through taobao agent, they have lobang 1... Anyway, I think DIY only applies to scratches on bumper or side skirt. If DIY on the main body (hood, trunk, doors) will be quite risky if the scratch mark is larger than a old 50cent coin, the new paint will be too obvious to notice. Fine line can still be patched though. |

Guys, where do you place your GPS or handphone while driving? Any recommendations where to get some mounts for Focus?
Also I wonder if anyone managed to get something like this for the boot: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160686725166?ru=...1860996&afsrc=1 |
