New owner here smile.gif
Got it last Saturday from SDPJ. Candy red sport+ rclxms.gif

Saw some member had trouble with loan?
Mine was quite pleasant, the document was submitted in the morning and after lunch already approved.
The banker even came to my office to let me sign the paper, cut the trouble for me to travel to their office!

The driving itself is really mind opening. Was driving a 10yrs old nissan sentra 1.6, nothing is the same...
The upgrade in power and the refined handling in the focus is really... fuuh!! Even my wife not being a car enthusiast also comment on the power and handling the first time she drive smile.gif

I had drove 3 generations(5,6,7) of civic before, no match at all in terms of handling. Not comparing power since capacity is different.

Fuel consumption for 1st tank wasn't recorded, now running on 2nd tank d, after half tank (3++km) it is doing 7.3 so far (40city/60highway). Not sure it makes a different, I am using Shell Ron97. Gonna let the engine taste the fine fuel for a bit before changing to Ron95 sad.gif

There was juddering with 1st gear in the first few hundred km, very noticeable and concerning. Now the mileage is 800km d and the juddering already reducing.

Noise wise, had audio turned off and windows rolled down to check for interior and exterior noise, no unpleasant noise so far.

Any one can comment on the audio system? Personally I think it is very good though I am not audiophile.

Gonna check on the steering wheel plastic rubbing noise later.

Some minor problem so far:

1. Where do u guys put ur nav/phone when driving other than stick it to the windscreen? I am laying it in front of the meter, covering the fuel level and water temperature with a gecko pad.

2. The usb port... really sweat lor sweat.gif , not powerful enough to charge the phone. The power even deplete when I'm on nav + bluetooth even though is plugged in.

3. Bluetooth sync seems to be problematic if u do not have bluetooth turned on when attempt to connect, it will keep failing to connect even if u turned on the bluetooth later.

4. My front sensor is blocked by the number plate, it is always red when I park the car... and the rear number plate is not centered... Gotta send to SC... considering to walk in without appointment since its just a small matter

5. The glove compartment is not convenient doh.gif . I prefer the drawer type. But not a major issue since the center box is very large.

6. Very hard to get a good sitting posture for my wife, she is short (155cm). Line of sight very bad for her. If pump up the seat, leg cannot reach pedal. If pump down, cannot see front. Already scratched the bumper 1st day on the road. Very minor and not noticeable though.

The acceleration is so significant?

Depends what car you are comparing to.
For me, upgrade from 1.6 sentra to 2.0 focus is a great leap.
But compared to my friends BMW 320d 2.0 diesel turbo, focus have hard time catching up sweat.gif

If compared amongst the common non-Turbocharged 2.0-litre engines, the standard Focus 2.0-litre 0-100km/h acceleration at sub 8.0s (claimed 8.7s) is already most powerful in its class. The Nissan Sylphy 2.0 only managed about 10.5s in a 0-100km/h dash whilst other more powerful 2.0-litre sedans register about 10.0s +/-. Due to the high horsepower, acceleration at higher speeds say from 100km/h to 160km/h will be more effortless and quicker than most vehicles in the similar class.
*
Agree on that.
I was cruising on 100km/h, and step on the pedal to accelerate, in no time I was already at 160km/h.
And I did not even floor the pedal. The car is like "meh" whistling.gif ...

A side note, 160km/h feels very stable compare to 160km/h on gen6 civic.
It feels like 110km/h in my old sentra thumbup.gif

Yes, stability at high speeds is top notch with the Focus. Guess this is a strong trait of the Ford in comparison to the Japanese. The Nissan Sylphy feels unstable at higher speeds due to the soft comfort-tuned suspension and high centre of gravity. The Focus sits lower to the ground and somehow the chassis and suspension feel rock solid when cruising at higher speeds up to 160km/h. Nissan vehicles(Sentra and Sylphy) are somehow not designed for sporty drive and are more towards comfort.

If one is passionate about speed, acceleration power and a sportier drive or handling, the Focus delivers. Feels nice to be in the cockpit everytime I step into the vehicle.  :-)

Every time I read your post it put a smile on my face. Couldn't agree more with the nice feeling delivered by the car.
Best spend I have had so far rclxm9.gif

3. are you able to connect after that? If yes, then it's not an issue, if it's not, you have to restart it with a very hassle way.
*
It doesnt reconnect, have to restart the vehicle to get it connect back.
Even restart the audio unit will not help. sweat.gif

QUOTE(0304125 @ Dec 27 2013, 04:20 PM)
Yes, please do share the result, and where do you get it from? the paint 4 u shop?
*
Bought the paint from Taobao. Not too cheap now that I calculate but can keep the spray can for future use.
Anyone wanna tag along? Then we can save some postage icon_idea.gif

Had another issue with bluetooth today. Apparently my pronunciation of 'pause' sounds like 'aux'.
I pronounce p'o'use it will read aux. I pronounce p'a'use then is fine.
Back to aux problem. Not knowing that it is in aux mode, I could not play any song from my phone, disconnect bt, restart car no help.
And i cannot find a way to change back to bluetooth mode.
Finally, need to use voice command 'bluetooth audio' to change back to bluetooth mode and it is fine now smile.gif

Anybody pumped in RON97 in place of RON95 and notice some differences in engine performance and acceleration?
*
I am on ron97 now. Next tank will use 95. Once I go 95 I try my best to make a good review.

What should I measure? Fuel consumption, acceleration. What else?

Hi guy, is our spot plus come with hill launch assist (HLA)? Seem like mine don't have this function, or i just unable to find where to active it.

I'm not sure what to expect, but according to the manual, it says the break will continue to engage when u move ur foot from the break pedal to the fuel pedal. I bet it is only for a split second?

I did experience this behavior at the front entrance at my apartment, it is a slope.
When I move my foot away from the break pedal, the car does not move backward.

Does anyone know how to close all windows and sun-roof after they are all opened using the global window open?
Other than using the alarm remote by holding the lock button?
Idea was once all window opens and I get in the car, I don't have to dig the alarm remote from the pocket to close all the windows.

What tyre did you all get from the car? I think new batch all get Michelin. I think they are okay.

Pin86, hv u received ur touch-up paint? i need it as well for my candy red. Intentionally scratched by someone i guess  mad.gif . Can you advise where & how you bought them? Thanks
*
I found them on tao bao. But I have a problem with the import custom now. The seller is telling me that the package might be rejected by custom since it is liquid. Not sure why, maybe to prevent dangerous chemical to enter the country or bio-hazard? It can be shipped but with risk of being reject by the custom.

But there's still hope to it, the shipping company says the custom normally checks on large parcel (10kg above, which also make sense). Will be shipping them in the next delivery probably a couple more weeks from now sad.gif

If u are in urgent need, u can try to get it through taobao agent, they have lobang 1...

Anyway, I think DIY only applies to scratches on bumper or side skirt.
If DIY on the main body (hood, trunk, doors) will be quite risky if the scratch mark is larger than a old 50cent coin, the new paint will be too obvious to notice. Fine line can still be patched though.

Guys, where do you place your GPS or handphone while driving? Any recommendations where to get some mounts for Focus?

Also I wonder if anyone managed to get something like this for the boot:

Still figuring out where to put the GPS, a couple option i considered:

1. Mount to windscreen, use normal phone mount

2. Mount to air-cond, but focus air-cond vent is verticle.

3. Mount to dashboard, this is the current option I am considering.
But worry is the mount will block the vision. The dashboard itself is already quite high. doh.gif

I have bought a couple stuff which I think are essential to the car biggrin.gif :

1. Trunk protector

2. Trunk carpet

3. Handle sticker

4. Window rain guard

But the air-cond mount are mostly for horizontal vent grill. Our vent grill is vertical, anyone tried before?
Mind share share? I dare not try because I feel that it will not get a good grip.

I am still waiting for the carpet shipment smile.gif hopefully it gonna be good!!

BUT i'm not sure if it can fit gps or android...

this seems like a good solution for Focus vertical vent. But the phone size could be a challenge.

For the phone mount, check this link below, I'm planning to get one myself
http://ycmart.net/themes/black1/show-item....item_id=220#_=_

1. Trunk protector, how much you got it? I asked from FB, about RM75
2. Trunk carpet, how much and where to get it?
3. Not interested
4. Window rain guard, I got this stuffs on my Vios, and some said it'll bring more wind noise, how true is it?
5. Not sure what you mean with this?
*
I bring all these stuff, u can PM me if interested.

About the rain guard, I haven't install it, will let u know once I installed.

The phone mount, I was also considering the 1 u saw, but then I am more interest with the 1 in my reply, it can be tilted at least. The dashboard near the middle speaker got quite some flat surface for it. Only concern is whether it will block the view.

5.

Kick Sticker, only 1 color?

Transparent 1 rclxms.gif

Not sure for Titanium.

For sport, because the interior is black, grey color foot mark appear to be really obvious.
