I am in the market for new car and Focus S+ attracted me but at the same time I kinda like the interior of Civic 2.0.

Which one do you guys actually prefer? Focus is slightly faster than Civic? How about FC? Do they have navigation and reverse camera? Can connect to Android devices without issue?

err, isn't it weird to change your driving style just to make sure the car doesn't produce the common problem? like you have to keep remembering what steps you need to do to make sure it runs fluently?

For me, there's only a specific zone in the accelerator that will cause jerking.

I am not really good at car stuff but this is the gut feeling based on my 5yrs MT and 5yrs AT driving.

This is the theory of my own:
I think the reason for jerking is that dual clutch is shorter that convention clutch.
Shorter clutch are used in performance clutch, shorter clutch losses less power during transmission.

Compare to others car that the AT is very smooth, it is because the clutch is longer.
Longer clutch allows the flywheel to have more time to break inertia even when u r soft on the accelerator.

Make sense? to me at least biggrin.gif

About changing the driving style...
You're not going to drive an F1 race car just like how you'd normally drive right?

But you can't compare F1 cars with normal cars as well. I am not a FoFo owner as of now as I will keep looking and see if there will be facelift version coming out this year.

I just kinda surprised that to prevent jerking,etc, you have to maintain the speed above 30kmh,etc. Isn't it we buy a car so that we can drive normally instead of giving sort of "temporary workaround"?

Yes I am still thinking but I still can't find any other car that can offer better driving in that price range. I just hope that I don't have to follow the 'driving steps' for a 'problem workaround'. I am not bashing but consumer(or potential) always wanted the car to be perfect for the price

Ya, test drive is a best option but I guess I have to wait till the facelift version possibly in this year?

I think your theory make sense, I never drive a MT before (except during license taking),  but I think it's quite logic if you give it a thought.
It's not a temporary workaround, it's a permanent solution, to adapt our driving behaviour to the CHARACTERISTIC of the DCT.
Really? I should start to give it a try then, could you also monitor your mileage with S mode?
I afraid there's none, there's really not much ST in Malaysia.
Why peoples keep forgetting about SAFETY, lolx, I'm really surprised with what's the first factor that comes to a Malaysian mind when choosing a car, looks like it's not the safety but the transmission, that's shocked me!
Then I afraid you have to looks else where (maybe in our dreams brows.gif) , there's no such thing as PERFECT car in this world, in fact, there's nothing PERFECT in this world smile.gif
I doubt there'll be any face lift this year, maybe next year.
