Did anyone know where can I get these 2 kind of Nerite snails?
![]() ![]() I heard these kind of snails are quite popular as it very hardy and because of the fact that they are very good algae eaters. Most species eat only algae and to a lesser degree other vegetable matter. Most important is Nerite snails are very hard to breed so I would not worry it will over populated later on. nerite can get it from my-mac forum. i bought a few but sad to say that my tank parameters not suitable for them. mine is acidic due to 24/7 co2. some already empty shells after 3 weeks... T_T
i think the ramshorn ot MTS will be better and if the plants dun rot, they won't attack it. This post has been edited by jctasoga: Mar 1 2013, 11:24 AM |

I believe the water in tank itself STILL will be acidic even I just on my CO2 for just 6hrs/day and some said ADA soil is also slightly acidic.i think the ramshorn ot MTS will be better and if the plants dun rot, they won't attack it. Meaning Nerite snail will not able to survive in acidic environment? Did anyone able brought up them alive successfully? |

All doing very good and my tank is very clean now. SOme people dont like them because they create more poo rather than cleaning the tank Meaning Nerite snail will not able to survive in acidic environment? QUOTE(Hapeng @ Mar 1 2013, 07:43 AM) nice setup u got there! oh, its some DIY thing to control the outflow of the water... coz the water flow too hard, making fish/shrimp waste from the floor all come out make my tank more dirty, then i put plants on it, so kinda like a half natural filtering...may i know whats that u placed on your hob filter? some white plastic with grass sticking out of it? I think waiting for like 1 month for the bacteria to build up in the tank would be quite long This post has been edited by -kytz-: Mar 1 2013, 05:51 PM |
