you have a really nice lighting system there..
with that you can try HC also. or else maybe can try glosso and hairgrass.
thank you..got it from sisaiko yesterday

I'm using JEBO right now.. not very helpful. Plus, over some time, the noise is unbearable.
hurm..i did googling too and most of them r not satisfied with jebo too...maybe diy is the best choice...

kytz, i think u can try the units before buying right? why not ask them to install on their aquarium and run it before buying? i'd think most china made filters are quite ok already. i bought 1 recently from xianleng (can't remember the name but the box is brown and yellow colour) and it was quite HOB.

goldfishes on the surface maybe due to low oxygen in the tank.

or bcoz they see u and they think u wanna give them food....
*
i bought 2-3 HOB from Xian Leng SA, all sunsun brand..quite ok actually..not noisy..still i can sleep at night...aquarium is beside my bed...

18c is too cold ya... preferable is 22c-25c region is more than enough. in fact, lower temp will result in difficult for nitrifying bacteria to get established.

mine is 27c without chiller..only a DIY pc fan..is it enough for glosso?

Vivid is made for fast-growing stem plants in a high-lighted tank. It is designed the bring out the reds in stem plants while maintaining a healthy and lush growth.

Lush is made for low to mild-lighted tank with low-demanding aquatic plant species such as mosses, anubias, cryptocorynes, and ferns.

Growth is a powerful source of bio-available organic carbon with a blend of minerals. It promotes lush plant growth in aquariums with or without CO2 fertilization, and enables the plants to compete better against algae

Essence K is a concentrated source of potassium and trace elements.
