Bear in mind that the cheaper DSL-N12E does not come with ASUSWRT firmware.

The cheapest with ASUSWRT is still the DSL-N12U C1.

I purchased asus RT-AC55UHP and manage to set it up to work with my unifi. FYI my unifi is 30mbps.

I notice the signal is stronger than the stock router provided by TM, and the speed has been better compare to stock, but the speed however is not stable. Sometimes when i do speed test (via speedtest.net) i will get as low as 10mbps.

Is there anything i can do to further enhance the wifi connectivity of this router and to make the speed stable?

Just received my DSL-N12U_C1 wifi router today. Damn nice this router. UI is nice to use. And it supports all the functions seamlessly. I can now print from anywhere in my house to my USB printer that is not connected to my PC but to the wifi router without built in networking feature for my USB printer. Nice.

I am using a RT-N15U router and I'm having intermittent connection issues.

- Whatsapp messages sometimes takes a while before it is send.
- Video streaming sometimes buffering.
- Playing games on my phone sometimes will have no connection or take a long time to connect.

I know there is a firmware update but it says cannot connect to Asus site to automatically get the firmware.

I do not want to update manualy by getting the package and upload it I want it auto update like it was before.

is it being fix right now ?

The router cannot connect to ASUS server to check for the firmware update. After reconnecting to the Internet, go back to this page and click Check to check for the latest firmware updates.

Is there really an automatic firmware upgrade feature?

Last I checked, I need to download the firmware and select it manually before pressing the 'Upload' button.

Click on the Firmware Version numbers at the top of the page.

It brings me back to this Firmware Upgrade page.

You can try updating the firmware to the latest, the latest firmware now is Version 3.0.0.4.378.6975.

You will be able to see a Check button beside the Firmware Version at the Firmware Upgrade page.

If there is a new firmware version available, by clicking the firmware version at the top will also pop out a message asking whether you want to update the firmware version or not.

The highest uptime achieved was 122 days until I experienced a momentary TNB power trip.

I am scared that the router stability may be affected after the firmware upgrade.

I am looking for a Modem/Router which can allow me to direct connect to the VPN (IP,Username,Password can set in the Modem/Router) when I on my Modem/Router. For example, when I turn on my Unifi Modem/Router , it automatic connect evenytime to the VPN IP which I already set before. So, when I connect via Lan or Wi-Fi . The IP address is the VPN IP. Is there any way to do it? Which Modem/Router allow to done it?
