Hi, im planning to get RT-AC68U router to replace tm unify stock router but before that can u confirm is the wifi range is good enough to cover 3 storey house? Using stock router the wifi signal canot reach 3rd floor at all.

I have a few streaming devise and hoping with decent wifi signal, i can enjoy no buffer connection while streaming...

Appreciate ur advise tq!

i think you should go for AC87U instead. or get a AP adapter/Repeater.

AC87U is more power router... is it the wifi range is better?
the description in their website just show minimum info on the wifi performance

im not sure the performance if using repeater pair with stock unifi wifi router...maybe can give it a try

TQ

Hi ati_radeon,

If you follow the Quick Internet Setup, it will automatically detect your connection type as PPPoE and you will need to just key in your User name and Password for your Streamyx account and follow the remaining step to finish the setup.

Thank you

I said that. smile.gif

Routers with external & upgradeable antennas is always better than antennaless routers.

Hi,

I have purchased Asus RT-N14UHP Router and installed for my Unifi. Everything works well but whenever I'm updating playstore applications via smartphone using the wifi, it takes a whole lot time to download the update. Update time takes about 10 mins for 10MB update size. Kindly advice.

If I buy a Asus RT-N12 and set it to be AP, does the LAN 1-4 still functional, so that I can have wireless and wired connection.

Hi danshi,

Can you try using the following beta firmware on your router? Please do a factory reset after the update.

Do you enable QoS on the router?

Hi karyeowl,

In AP mode, both the wireless and LAN port are usable for Internet access.

Thank you

Hi Balistix,

May I know the distance between your device and your router when doing the test, and how signal bar that you get?

You can try changing the WiFi channel on the router at Wireless->General->Control Channel.

Below is a beta firmware for the RT-N14UHP, you can have a try also.

Please do a factory reset after the firmware update.

Around 7 meter I think, and I can see my modem, signal bar is more than half.
