QUOTE(arslow @ Aug 10 2014, 03:37 PM) Which firmware are u using? I remember thus issue used to happen on very old ac68u firmwares. Suggest you factory reset it and reflash with 374.5656 available here http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLan...m=RT-AC68U&os=8the 376 branch is still new, so suggest you install the 374 one for now. He said he already tried factory reset but he still can't access the router to do a firmware upgrade.

QUOTE(Geenic @ Aug 19 2014, 02:45 PM) hello guys, my asus rt-n12hp cant connect to the unifi modem (no ethernet light on router and no lan light on unifi modem.) is the router ethernet port dead? Your Ethernet cable could be faulty. Change with another cable.

Why need a RT-N14UHP?
His house is only a mid-sized single-floor condo, not a 3-storey landed property.
I stay in a 2-storey landed property and a RT-N12 D1 is more than enough.

I can understand if he wants to utilize the 5GHz band of a dual-band router because of contention with neighbours' wifi in the 2.4GHz band.

I think the latest firmware for RT-N12 D1 is broken. How is this possible, and the day hasn't even ended yet?

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Aug 21 2014, 04:52 PM) do u mean u wanted to get ipv6 but new firmware also can't which is normal? anyway, any advantage for new firmware? where can i find it? Yes, I want IPv6 support in this new router which replaced the TM-supplied Innatech RG4332. Even the cacat RG4332 (in use for only two days) has IPv6 support properly implemented. The latest firmware can be downloaded here. http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN12_D1/HelpDesk_Download/

When I rebooted the router this morning, IPv6 is OK now, although it took about 17 minutes to take effect. Here is the system log. Here is the IPv6 page AFTER 17 minutes. Everything is OK now. But why does it takes so long to take effect?

Here are the traffic monitor statistics taken this morning for my RT-N12 D1 router. These figures are nonsensical. The realtime monitor statistics are correct though. Look at the daily figures under today's date 23-08-2014. This is just 8 am in the morning and my day has just started.

QUOTE(gkong3 @ Aug 24 2014, 12:32 AM) Hmm, I dunno. Maybe, maybe not. On a 1MBps (10Mbps) fibre line, at max trot you can upload AND download ~3.5GB/hour. Your speeds look a helluva lot faster than that, so you're probably doing something like ~24.5GB/hour upload. Which, over 8 hours, comes out to ~196GB. Which is pretty close to the 225GB mark I'm seeing... Nah, I'm just messing with ya. Yes, the stats are ridiculous. My own router (same model as yours) is now claiming that I'm transmitting in excess of 47MBps - which, given that not even my WLAN is capable of those kinds of speeds, is quite a mad figure. Heck, it claimed yesterday alone I did 2TB worth of transfers in EACH direction. I think ASUS screwed up the algorithms somewhere along the line. I hope ASUS will release a new firmware to fix this. For now, I only monitor the realtime statistics.

By the way, I am quite happy with the router performance I am getting with Unifi VIP5. The ping times are as low as they can get. You can't get lower than that.

And the QoS is awesome. Every rule and priority that I define worked perfectly as they should. No lags in online games, no spikes, no streaming video buffering, even for 1080p.

The ASUS RT-N12 D1 is even enough for my 2-storey landed property with 11 wifi devices and 2 wired PCs.

QUOTE(InSplre @ Aug 30 2014, 09:11 AM) I went there yesterday, waiting for 1 hour, then when it is my turn, they said, ' Oh, we don't accept Router here, please go to Wisma SPS'. Luckily the centre as Wisma SPS still open. Asus @ LYP should put a remark somewhere saying that only laptops service available rather than ask ppl to wait for nothing. There is also another customer there same like me, both of us manage to sent the device in right before Wisma SPS close at 630pm. Thanks for the info. May I know what is the address and telephone contact for Wisma SPS?

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Sep 1 2014, 12:31 AM) I just bought a new Asus RT-N12HP to replace my unifi DIR-615 router. Previously I had my cctv installer setup the DVR to the router for online viewing of my CCTV. On this new router, I have totally no idea on how to setup my DVR to be connected to the internet. Anyone can guide me with the process of port forwarding from the dvr right up to setting up the DDNS thingy? My old one was registered to dlinkddns.com but I cannot find that dlinkddns.com in the Asus router DDNS page.. Really need some guide here, if possible can teamviewer me.. I'd give you a small tip if u can successfully make it work.. For the DDNS part, you should fill up the DDNS page as follows:- dlinkddns.com has been taken over by DynDNS, and your existing hostname, userID and password are already registered in the DynDNS database. For the port-forwarding part, just copy the existing parameters from the Dlink DIR-615 to the ASUS RT-N12HP.

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Sep 1 2014, 12:25 PM) Thanks, but I can no longer access anything from the DIR-615 anymore. Its a useless paperweight already In that case, you need to get the brand/model of the IP camera to google for the port number to be forwarded. Also check your DHCP lease table which local IP address is assigned to the IP camera. You need to match the MAC address of the IP camera to the one in the DHCP lease table. Then use this local IP address and the port number as parameters to define a port-forward entry in the table.
