That setting can only be adjusted through telnet.
It's not visible on the settings.

PS:
By increasing the transmit power, you will also increase the operating temperature.
So unless you have a way to improve the cooling, don't do it under any circumstances.

Dear All Sifu,

I;m planning to change unifi router to Asus N66U, i notice there is few people mention about N66U is not so stable however i saw the advertisement mention N66U is the best Wireless router 2014.

MY requirement is such as
-DDNS ( i notice Asus got FREE DDNS which is good for me, because for Free account DyDns require reconfigure every 30 days) so better got Asus FREE DDNS.
-VPN Feature
-Gigabit Port
-All in One (Modem + Router + Wireless) - (do i still require Unifi Router?)
-Guest Login
-Netflow (i notice the standard firmware like not able to support Netflow )
-SNMP (For monitoring )

Lastly, anyone flash to DD-WRT firmware ? not sure worth it or not

Been using N66U without problems.
Those who say otherwise may not even know what a router is let alone configure or set it up properly

Not sure if this is correct but I believe you may have an overheating AC68U.

Several questions:
1. Where do you place the router?
2. What firmware are you on now? The latest STABLE official ASUS firmware for AC68U is 3.0.0.4.378.4585
3. How many devices is connected through wireless?

1 suggestion on how to check the temperatures of your AC68U:
Use AsusWRT-Merlin firmware to check the temperatures of your AC68U.
Only AsusWRT-Merlin firmwares can provide you with the temperatures. Official ASUS firmwares doesn't have this feature.
*
If I flash the AsusWRT-Merlin do I need to reconfigure my router or can I just flash the saved .cfg?

I am curious as to what would be the advantage of enabling IPV6 on a home router?

From el cheapo tp-link to dreytek to cheaper Asus to mikrotik and settled on N66U which has served me well almost 2 yrs.

Dear ASUSmy and all,

Have been using Asus RT-N66U since 2012 and very happy with the router performance. However, had problems recently connecting to the wifi signal unless I am next to the router. The SSID can't even be detected from other parts of the home now, when previously there was no problem. The 3 year warranty has already lapsed and I took it back to the vendor who tried sending it back to ASUS for repairs.

Was most disappointed to find out that ASUS does NOT bother with "out-of-warranty" units and is not even interested to provide repair services even though the customer is prepared to pay for it.

Asus is a most reputable brand and probably among the priciest modem/routers in the market but where is the Customer support? You expect us to pay premium prices  but with no technical support once the warranty expires?

Is there any solution for my RT-N66U or am i supposed to junk it and rush out to buy the latest ASUS???? I should think not if this is the kind of service provided. shakehead:

I had the same issue.
My suggestion is to double double factory reset and update firmware to the latest

It is indeed very confusing due to the lack of documentation.

I use this guide from SNB, hope it helps.
