Hi cr4zy1987,

May I know, are you going to connect to the UNIFI STB using wifi? May I know how is the connection are done? Or can you simply draw out a image of your connection.

Thank you

Hi duck v3,

We are still testing the new GUI firmware ASUSWRT for RT-N12 C1. But you can flash it also if you want to as we already have customer using it. Below is the new firmware. 3.0.0.4.264.

3.0.0.4.264
https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/8...5E2883D45DD7F9Y

3.0.0.4.342
https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/C...366F60BB1DA721Y

This firmware will change the GUI of the router. All the setting will be gone.

Please update the firmware 3.0.0.264 first then 3.0.0.4.342. After finish updating these 2 firmware, you need to do a factory reset before you can use it.

After factory reset, redo the setting on the router. This firmware have UNIFI selection build inside already.

Thank you

hi thanks for quick reply,

so do i need to factory reset the modem using the gui, then using the firmware update utility from within the gui, select upload from desktop. and flash .264 first. after flashing .264, do i need to reset? or straight away can flash .342?

also, after flashing .342, after the factory reset, i should key in my unifi ppoe id and password as usual like any other isp is that correct?

Hi duck v3,

You can update until .342 then only do factory reset. Inside GUI factory reset or reset button also can use.

And here is a link for you to refer when doing the UNIFI setup.

Hi cr4zy1987,

Currently our device cannot broadcast IPTV wirelessly. But what you can do is having 1 AP and one EA-N66 on the UNIFI STB.

Connect the AP device to the LAN port 4 on the router and use the EA-N66 to connect to the AP.

But cannot guarantee it will work or not. Of course, you can always have a try.

Thank you.

Hi ASUSmy,

I'm using RT-N12 C1 as repeater for few months already. Current firmware used is downloaded from ASUS website -FW_RT_N12_C1_VER211178.zip. The repeater connected to my Streamyx modem router wirelessly with distance less than 7 meters.

My problem is, the repeater keep having disconnection problem since the earlier version of firmware. On average, the disconnection can happened every 1 to 2 hours, and sometimes can repeatly disconnection within few seconds to few minutes. Normally if I feel too frequent disconnection, I'll just restart the repeater (by power off and on), which most of the time can help.

Even with latest firmware 2.1.1.1.78 which I used it just few weeks ago, feel nothing much change from before. Is there anything I can do on it to get the problem solved?

hi asusmy,
just got my asus n56u router today. this is my setup. using streamyx 8mbps (in theory 8mbps down, 512kbps up)

modem (dlink 2730e) ---> router (n56u) ---> pc (via usb wireless dongle) and laptop (built in adapter). all using 2.4ghz.

all adapters are b/g/n capable.

the thing is, after setting up the basics like bridging the modems, and wifi key thingy, the PC can achieve max internet speed (8mbps). however for laptop wireless mode, i only get around 4mbps . in wired can achieve max speed.

note that previous router, the laptop wireless mode can get max speed too.

any idea why my laptop wireless mode cant get full speed using n56u?

Hi joeboto,

Has you try update the firmware to the latest? The latest firmware is 3.0.0.4.360.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/...56U_3004360.zip

Another method you can try is by setting up the channel bandwidth on wireless section in the router. Set to 40MhZ instate of 20/40MhZ.

Thank you.

found the culprit just now. it was the adapters driver being TOO up to date. reverting to the 2008 driver solves the problem. im using broadcom 802.11n wireless adapter that is built into acer aspire 4741g. now i can taste full internet speed wirelessly.

now for the torrent issues. tried downloading ubuntu torrent, can reach full speed. but when torrenting a movie worth 10gb, the speed crawls. did tmnet applies specific file throttle to p2p?

and how to check how much simultaneous connection did p2p applies to the router?

btw, using the latest firmware. thumbup.gif

for the ubuntu i get around 800 - 900kB/s however for the movie file, it only goes min 40kB/s up to 300kB/s only.

currently using utorrent 2.2.1 and on the previous router, it maxes the speed quickly.
