single core broadcom 800mhz CPU and a single band wireless N router for RM400...wow so overpriced. Should be around 300. I already have an AC68U but just thought there is a new budget ARM router by asus, i thought wrong i guess.

You have to set your interface to PPP instead of Ethernet.

Here is mine.

Thanks but even set to PPP does NOT work sad.gif

Basically, I have tried both.

I can only suspect it could be firmware issue. Hope that ASUSmy can help

Hi all,

Need some help. Just installed unifi 2 weeks ago.
The Innatech router coverage signal not good enough.
I just bought the ASUS RT-N12HP as a replacement.
Everything seems fine in the begining, but the WIFI connection is not there anymore.
Ethernet/cable connection is ok, HyppTV is ok, but just no WIFI.
Restarted many times but still no WIFI. The blue LED blink for a while and gone.
Any idea what is wrong?

Hi jolmy,

This model should be working with the IPv6 but it will take around 5-15min to get the IPv6.

The setting shown by #raynman is correct.

May I ask, is your previous TM router IPv6 working before you replace with this model?

Thank you

Hi bananc,

Can you try fix the channel between 1-11 at Wireless->General->Control Channel and try scan the WiFi again?

Thank you

I think it is currently set as Auto.
Will change the channel once back to home.

Hi jolmy,

Some area still unable to support IPv6 yet, you can try check with the TM.

Thank you

Comparatively prices in EU are much cheaper (US$80) and it is only slightly more expensive than the RT-N16 which is still being sold in EU/US but is now EOL here. Since you have the AC68U, you will know that prices here are much higher compared to in EU/US.

I just replaced my 9yo WRT54G with the RT-N18U and am very happy with it.

For those that don't need the fastest wireless speed, but everything else (fast CPU, lots of RAM, gig WAN/LAN ports), then this is the router to go for a relatively affordable price as well. In my case had noticeable improvement for overall Internet experience (faster browsing, higher download speeds - of course I am comparing with my old router which had 4x slower CPU and 16x less RAM, serving >10 clients... biggrin.gif)

Yeah, thing is other more casual users wouldn't understand why they need to spend so much for a router Iol. I didn't know they were still selling the 16U in the EU.
Usually in the US and EU ppl really make sure they're router has 5ghz but yeah it's not really important here. It completely slipped my mind that I paid 800 bucks or so when the 68U just launched in Malaysia

One thing I really like about the asus compared to the unifi router is just how well it divides the bandwidth for everyone, without even using QOS. More than 10 clients here too

Hi, I'm currently using ASUS RT56U. I am wondering which USB adapter works the best with that router? Also, the wifi signal in my room is quite weak from the router which is located in my living room. What should I do to rectify this issue?

My RT-N16 on latest firmware (3.0.0.4.376.2678), the LEDs for LAN1, LAN2 ,LAN3 ,LAN4 & WAN will not light up everytime I reboot the router.

The LEDs will only be back up once I disconnect & reconnect the AC Adaptor.

Only the LEDs will not light up. Everything else is working perfectly.

Note 1:
The Power & WiFi LEDs is not affected.

Note 2:
Not sure if the same problem occurs with the previous firmwares as this has never happened before so I didn't check.

Ya bro, one thing I don't get is why ASUS charges so much for their routers here compared to EU/US. Maybe @ASUSmy can let us know tongue.gif (sorry, putting him/her on the table keke). Eg in Japan your AC68U router costs <RM500. Heck for the price of a high-end router, you can buy a very decent phone with much better specs (similar class CPU, 1GB RAM)
