ASUSmy

I am on TM UniFi, using an Asus RT-N12HP_B1 wireless router, however I could not get IPv6 to work.

I am using firmware 3.0.0.4.376_2048

Attached here the screenshot of the config page & log.

Is there anything I missed out?

You have to set your interface to PPP instead of Ethernet.

Here is mine.

Thanks but even set to PPP does NOT work sad.gif

Basically, I have tried both.

Funny, my IPv6 works fine with those settings.

See my IPv6 log.

It is really strange why it didn't work for you.  hmm.gif

I can only suspect it could be firmware issue. Hope that ASUSmy can help

Hi jolmy,

This model should be working with the IPv6 but it will take around 5-15min to get the IPv6.

The setting shown by #raynman is correct.

May I ask, is your previous TM router IPv6 working before you replace with this model?

Thank you

I just tried with the TM D-Link DIR615 router but it did not work either sad.gif

Hi jolmy,

Some area still unable to support IPv6 yet, you can try check with the TM.

Thank you

Hi,

I cannot establish the Internet connection in my RT-AC66U (latest firmware) if I do not select ISP profile for the IPTV setting. Had tried restart both the router and unifi modem and even wait for half an hour for the connection to be establish...still can't connect to the WAN. No problem if I select Unifi-Home for the IPTV setting..

Is it my router that has a problem or the firmware was designed like that in order to establish WAN connection for unifi? I don't use hypptv and want LAN port 4 to be free for other devices..
*
You need to set the ISP profile because it also sets the PPPoE interface to VLAN500 which is required for UniFi Internet connection.

Just buy a switch, then you can connect as much devices / computers as you want.
5 port 100Mb ethernet switch is around RM21.
5 port Gigabit ethernet switch is around RM47.
*
Meanwhile an 8-port FastEthernet (100Mbps) Switch is less than RM30.

Dear ASUSmy,

I know the dual WAN function can work with the YES 4G GO USB dongle.
But the DDNS client from asus will post an error saying the ip address from YES has an issue.

Recently YES replied me via email indirectly saying they don't support DDNS client even on their
YES Zoom even though on the box it says it does. They are very nice.

So the problem is not with Asus ddns client, rather with YES itself.

*
In the early days of YES, they assign a dynamic public IP address to each user. But a few months back, due to shortage of IP address & increase in subscribers, YES has resorted to assign private IP address in the 10.0.0.0/8 range - just like what Maxis does for Maxis Fiber subscribers.

Hence, DDNS & Port Forwarding no longer works.

some review

the wireless signal strength, it should be larger is better instead of what is shown on the graphs.

we are dealing with negative numbers here. -30 is larger than -70.

Hi,

I would like to ask if ASUS RT-N12-D1 support streamyx?
*
QUOTE(sHawTY @ Sep 21 2015, 11:58 AM)
For Streamyx you need to look for models that starts with DSL, not RT.

DSL - For Streamyx
RT - For UniFi, Maxis Fibre, Time Fibre
*
You can still use the RT models with Streamyx, provided you use it together with an ADSL modem/router.

At my hometown, Streamyx 4Mbps, I actually use an RT-N12HP together with a TP-Link ADSL Router. In this case, I configure the TP-Link ADSL Router to function as BRIDGE mode, meaning the routing functions & DHCP are disabled.

My house is running 3 phase wiring, so powerline network is not really the best choice  sweat.gif
*
The modern powerline adaptors (HomePlugs) can work on different phases, however, with some degradation in performance.

However, you can optimize it by plugging the HomePlugs onto sockets on the same phase, or if that is not possible, get an electrician to configure it so that all the sockets that you want to plug the HomePlugs in are on the same phase, it involves swapping the wires at the MCB distribution box.
