Hmm , my ps3 is lagging quite badly recently especially when playing games that are from psn. I'm hoping that the hdd is not dying cry.gif . If it's , can suggest any decent brand of external hdd to transfer the data? So that i can perform the formatting. And how to make the external hdd into fat32? Cheers icon_question.gif

Hello Hello!

One quick question!

I've played finish R2 version of this game named X.
Saved inside my PS3.

And now, I replay the game again by buying the game in PS Store but it's R1.

Can i still load the same game data for it? Can it read the saved data? Or I need to play all over again? smile.gif

Thanks!

Something from Seagate or Western Digital is fine.
You can use something like FAT32 Format to do so.

Depending on the game entirely.
There are games which can load another region's save file up and there are also games which doesn't.

To add to the confusion, there are games which doesn't even load a savefile despite the fact that both games are on the same region but in different formats — disc and digital.

Don't think there's a list somewhere to check on this.

Depending on how much data you have. Many reported up to 6 hours (or even more) of backing up.

hey ps3 sifus here! in need of help.

lately my ps3 slim has been giving me some problem. first, it gives me that 'disc eject' noise when i insert a disc in. and it does not read the disc. after rebooting the device, it reads the disc, but during the middle of the game, it hangs, or shows lack of information in game.

is there something wrong with the bluray reader? approx how much wud it cost to replace a new one?

Possibly. Does any other game hang when you play it off your HDD?
A blu-ray drive replacement generally costs about RM300+ or so.

Disc cleaners don't work, so don't bother.
Well you can try and download some demos from the PSN store and try them out?

The BD cleaner is not so effective, according to some reviews on the net.
They're not easy to find here in Malaysia too.

I tried looking for it before, but couldn't find one. Ended up cleaning the lens myself through DIY method. It's quite easy actually. But you'll need special screw drivers to open the PS3 shell.

Your question a bit confuse.

Majority DLCs are region locked, but not all, some DLCs are region free (very rare). So basically, R1 DLC work with R1 game only. R1 DLC won't work with other region game (like R2, R3 or R4)

If your game is R1 and you purchase R1 DLC, you can play the game with those DLC purchased from R1 account through different region account (like R2 or R3). Please take note, this still not 100% correct, some DLCs (like GOW Ascension) is account locked, you can access the DLC via account which redeemed/purchased it only. Although game and DLC are from same region, you still can't access the DLC with different account if the DLC is account locked.

Same like me... warranty ended, so DIY also no problem.... laugh.gif

One thing I'd like to suggest is don't use cotton buds & alcohol to clean the Blu-ray lens. Use microfibre cloth. Dab a bit with your saliva. Yes, that's what I did. sweat.gif

I have no problems of freeze, stuck etc since then. thumbup.gif

NOTE: The lens is very sensitive. So wipe it in one direction applying a very soft touch.
