Thanks a lot
I have seen some youtube videos bout it
My question
I have 1 full game in hdd
But i would like that game stay to my old ps3

From the video i see, it looks like its transferring everything from old to new ps3 system

Or the old ps3 copy to new ps3, it copy or cut? If the old ps3 cut files and put in new ps3
How can i make the game in hdd stay?
*
Assuming the full game under your main PSN account. After use transfer utility, the data in old PS3 still intact except copy-protected save data will erase from old PS3 and move to new PS3. Keep your main PSN account activate on both PS3, so that the full game still playable in old PS3. If the full game save data is copy-protected, then can't load the save data since it already move to new PS3. So, have to start the game from scratch at old PS3. For new PS3, you still able continue the game from last save.

Ok thanks

Is there any chances that the game save or online code being corrupt in the new ps3
*
Online pass bound to PSN account, you still able get back from Playstation Store (find it at "View Download" section).

I not sure the percentage of save data been corrupted during transfer process, I did last time, all my save data are OK. I think the changes are slim since it just copy or move from one HDD to another only, it not alter save data unless you turn off the power during transfer process, it might cause file corrupted.

ive just bought a new ps3 super slim and wanted to do the Data Transfer Utility from my slim to the super slim. then i encountered a problem the error during the process which says "an ethernet cable is not connected or a ps3 is not turned on".

i've followed the instructions to the letter and the problem still persists. anyone had this problem before?
*
Both PS3 using same firmware (latest firmware)?

Maybe Ethernet cable or PS3's LAN port problem?

Here some methods to test the cable and LAN port:-
1) Do you have another set of Ethernet cable? Test transfer use this cable. If transfer OK, means previous Ethernet cable problem.
2) This method to test LAN port and cable, connect slim PS3 to modem using Ethernet cable. Test the internet connection (make sure change to wired connection if normally use WI-FI for internet connection). If wired internet connection OK, means slim PS3's LAN port and Ethernet cable are OK.
3) Repeat Step 2 for super slim PS3.

If everything are OK, follow transfer instructions stated, do not skip any step.

Here is what i wanna do. Pls advise..i think i will sell the console with fifa street and winning eleven

I have a few games..in my ps3 slim
In hdd - fifa street
Also i have winning eleven 2013 but code i redeemed(disc)
So what i wanna do is

I want to transfer all ..except for fifa street
And also the winning eleven..i want the buyer can play online..
So how..
I dont want to give my account that i redeemed(main account)
*
First question, fifa street downloaded used which PSN account? main account? share account (example: bought from terion)?
If the game downloaded used main account, then the game can't playable once you de-activate your main account from slim PS3.
If the game downloaded used share account, just leave the share account at slim PS3 and activate the share account once complete the transfer process.

For winning eleven, the buyer can't play online unless you keep your main account activate at slim PS3.

noob question here
if I backup previous ylod ps3 (and so the corrupt file on ps3), will I recover those file too?
*
Backup utility is useful for restore file to same PS3. If use backup file to another PS3, all copyright-protected file and copy-protected save file can't transfer to new PS3. If want transfer file from one PS3 to another PS3, better use transfer utility, then all contents will transfer from old PS3 to new PS3 including copyright-protected contents.
I don't think you can recover corrupted file using Backup utility or transfer utility.

directly restore to new ps3 can't huh? copyright is for downlodable content only or all games?
can transfer between ylod PS?
*
You can restore the backup file from old PS3 to new PS3, but will miss those copyright-protected contents (example: video) and copy-protected save data. So, you can't get exactly same contents as old PS3.

If YLOD PS3 (early stage only) still can turn on, then you can do transfer. If YLOD PS3 totally dead, nothing you can do.

I think those save data are copy-protected, so can't restore at new PS3. (not 100% sure, you can try restore, but don't put high hope on it).

is there any site where I can know which game is copy-protected and which isn't
*
I think most of recent game's save data are copy-protected since it involved trophies. Sony try to prevent trophies cheat. The best way to backup save data is backup to cloud (but for PS+ user only), you still can use backup utility backup save data, but for same PS3 only, can't use on other PS3.

hi all i have some question need help....

if i buy  game from HK/TW R3 (chinese ver) it come with DLC

do i need to setup a HK/TW PSN account?

currenly my psn are MY..... i plan  to buy the Shin Sangoku Musou 7真‧三國無雙 7
*
R3 is Asia region, it should work with MY account.

Worse case, if DLC code can't redeem from MY PSN store, setup another HK/Taiwan account, redeem the DLC code, then change back to MY account to play the game and DLC work with MY account too after redeemed.

guys, how to check my account belong to which region? please help..
*
One easy way is check money currency in PSN store, example RM is Malaysia account (R3); USD is US account (R1) and so on.

Another way is check country registered in account.

ok thx for the info....but both my console and GoW use same region...R2...i have check the box came with my console...it shows no 2...same to GoW....so wht the real problem?...is there sumone else facing same problem same like mine?.... rclxub.gif
*
It's not console problem, should be PSN account region and game region. Normally, DLC and voucher code are locked to region, you can't redeem R2 DLC and voucher code using other region PSN account (like R1 or R3), it MUST redeem under R2 PSN account.

so can you teach me how to switch psn region?...i really dont know wht to do since i newly bought this ps3 last saturday.....hmmmm rclxub.gif  cry.gif  rclxub.gif
*
I think you created your PSN account using Malaysia address, right? If yes, then your current PSN account is R3. So, you can't redeem R2 voucher code.
Normally, we can create R2 PSN account (use fake UK address, google it, you can get fake UK address easily) and redeem the R2 DLC and voucher code using R2 account. After redeemed, change back to main account (R1 or R3) and play the game, the DLC still usable under R1 or R3 account.

But this GOW: Ascension DLC and voucher code a bit different because it tied to account which redeemed it. That's means the DLC items redeemed under R2 account can't use in R1 or R3 account. If you want play with those DLC items, ONLY solution is play the game under R2 account.

yes...ur correct...i register under malaysia address...so i need to create 1 more account or just edit the current one?....so in the future, do i really need to switch (region) only to play other games that state other than R2?.....
*
You need create NEW account (make sure use UK address), you can't edit current R3 account to R2 because once registered, you can't change country registered.

If you plan collect trophies under MY account, then stick with MY account and play all games using this account. To be safe, better buy game region same as account region in future, so will not encounter DLC and voucher code can't redeem issue.

QUOTE(playxboxwii @ Apr 2 2013, 09:15 AM)
Thanks.. But i heard that the online code is tied to an account, not ps3
I tested cod games it works but for games that require online code it doesnt work
*
Correct, online pass tied to account which redeemed it. Once online pass redeemed by any account on your PS3(A), it will work across multiple accounts on SAME PS3(A). It will stop working for all users if account which redeemed it got deleted on that PS3(A). If you want play same game online on PS3(B), you MUST setup SAME account which used to redeem online pass on PS3(A), then re-download online pass from download history. Once online pass installed on PS3(B), it will work across multiple accounts on PS3(B) too.

As SSJBen and terryfu said you can't play online game using same account with different PS3 at SAME time. But you able play same online game using same account with different PS3 at DIFFERENT time, just make sure both PS3 setup same account which redeemed online pass and re-download online pass for second PS3. You might possible loss online profile if 1st play on PS3(A), then after that change to PS3(B) due to online profile save at PS3(A) and not game server.

want to ask,
if i buy add on from US account psn store, download it and installed.
can i access the add on with malaysia PSN account ?
*
Your question a bit confuse.

Majority DLCs are region locked, but not all, some DLCs are region free (very rare). So basically, R1 DLC work with R1 game only. R1 DLC won't work with other region game (like R2, R3 or R4)

If your game is R1 and you purchase R1 DLC, you can play the game with those DLC purchased from R1 account through different region account (like R2 or R3). Please take note, this still not 100% correct, some DLCs (like GOW Ascension) is account locked, you can access the DLC via account which redeemed/purchased it only. Although game and DLC are from same region, you still can't access the DLC with different account if the DLC is account locked.

any effect if we set auto shutdown after 2hours and always happened?  ( i always sleep tongue.gif )

we know if the PC the hdd maybe corrupted if always standby/hibernate mode. so is it same like our PS? is it properly quit the game & shutdown? anyone saw when the process happened? i don't think so.
*
There are 2 options with auto-off function. First is auto-shut down if on XMB screen doing nothing. Second is auto-shut down even game on or video playing if DS3 inactive in time period which set auto-off.

There is possibility corrupt your game save file or video file if auto-shut down middle of game play or video play.

You need R2 PSN account in order to redeem the DLC code. After download the DLC from R2 PSN store and install it, you can change back to main account (MY PSN account) and play the game, the DLC will work on your main account.
