Direct transfer through ethernet cable.
Basically your old PS3 > transfer data utility > new PS3.

Then no, you can't just transfer locked saves over.
If you've got an error, try uninstalling some of the installed data on your old PS3 first. Usually games with large installs tend to be an issue when it comes to transferring data from one PS3 to another.

Guys, just bought a game from shared account, tried to add user but already full tongue.gif

Anyways, say if I delete a user with Game A and create another user to download this new game I just bought. Will I be able to play Game A again despite that the user used to download the game was deleted from my ps3?

no, cannot delete... the user that used to download the game must be present at all time.

Remote download now works... with a catch.

If you sign into the PSN store from the PC, you can now set the games/content you want to download through a queue.
The problem? Your PS3 MUST BE manually turned on first. Which pretty much... defeats the entire purpose of remote download.

Setting a queue from the PSN store on the PC will not wake your PS3 up to have it download the stuff you want.
So yeah, for those wishing to have your downloads innitiated when you're out, the only other way is to have a Vita/PSP to remotely connect to your PS3. That way, it'll work.

PS Plus users however, can have their content downloaded automatically provided they have their PS3 on stand-by (as usual). As PS+ will treat any queued content from the PSN store as an "update", just like how it treats firmwares or game patches as one.

Yes. An info about this is on the first page, 2nd post smile.gif .
If you are only buying the ps3 for gaming purpose then you shouldnt worry about region of the ps3, but if you intend to use as BR movie player as well then the region matters.

are you study / working / holiday in australia ?

# if you study / working + most of the time in australia , it is worth to get Playstation 3 there .. you can buy any blu ray movies in australia without worries bout the region

# for the blu ray games ( Playstation 3 ) .. no worries , its region free .. you can play any region on your Playstation 3 console such as > Region 1 - US , Region 2 - Japan / UK , Region 3 - Asia , Region 4 - Australia / New Zeland

# for the power supply , no worries .. you don't need to buy power converter .. you can plug straight away because Playstation 3 got build-in universal power supply 100v ~ 240v

Okay guys. Here is a lesson for everybody (Maybe otai here already know). So If your PS3 have a hardware problem but can still function properly. DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE.

e.g My PS3's wifi/bluetooth chip is not functioning. But I can still play games with it. So just now, I update my firmware using USB. And when the bar goes to 55%, tadaaaa... UPDATE LOOP.

It seems that during firmware installation, the update process will check the PS3 hardware for problems. At 55% progress, it will check for the wifi/bluetooth module. If theres a problem, it will spit out an error code. Restarting the PS3 will start the firmware update installation process (cannot go to safe mode).

So now I have to actually go to a shop that can swap my wifi/bluetooth module to a new one. Oh well...

p/s: more info on firmware installation and what it checks during that here. http://forums.cvxgameconsolerepair.com/php...php?f=12&t=1951

Okay. An update of my neverending problem.

So I sent the PS3 to a shop. An hour later the shop called and said that the PS3 is now okay. Wireless is okay, bluetooth is also okay (also tested with my DS3). Also update the firmware for me (So i am wrong. the wifi/bluetooth module is okay). When I ask them how they go about it. They said that they just reset it and somehow the ps3 is fixed.

So when I went home, I tested the PS3 and everything is normal again. Good.Download a bunch of stuff and then it freezes on the XMB. The whole problem happens again. The whole shebang repeats.

Then I give up and turn off (plug off the power and hdmi) the damn thing. After about 20 minutes, I start it again. I saw the green wifi (i think) led blinking. Hey, maybe its good again. Yes it does, BUT it crashed again in like 5 minutes.

Then maybe I think it might be the problem with its heating. I don't know. Might have to send it to the shop again.

It has to be changed, not just a reset.

Thats the thing. But my ps3 somehow decided to trick the technician by behaving good in the shop vmad.gif I'll ask the shop to reexamine again later.
