Hi,

I think to buy a Bluetooth headset for mobile phone, but would like to buy a headset that can connect to the mobile phone and the PS3. On the PS3 Headset I found that the PS3 can connect with any Bluetooth headset. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this ?
*
Do you want a headset that can be connected to both your PS3 AND your phone simultaneously or one of the other?

one.. What you think about Plantronics ML20?
*
Never tried it, but from the looks of it... having the over ear clip is already a no-no for me. Too uncomfortable.
Why not just get an i-Tech Mini 606 - http://www.itechdynamic.com/Clip-II-mini-6...nproduct/view/7

Hi, I would like to ask what are the steps to buy US PSN digital code from Amazon using MY credit card? From Amazon website, it says requires US Billing Address...
*
Google up a US address, use it as your main adress for your Amazon account.
Alternatively if you are lazy to google, go here and get one: http://www.borderlinx.com/

Then just use your credit card.

If for whatever reason you still can't purchase it, just create a new Amazon account with a different e-mail and when registering, use your US address then put in your credit card info.

I've created a new Amazon account with US address (from Borderlinx) and entered my credit card with local billing address. However, when I try to purchase it returned error response saying only available for US customers. Any steps I missed?
*
Can you re-try by going to Your Account > Edit or Delete Payment Method > Billing Address > set to your Borderlinx address.

I got many user with downloaded game in my ps3 from terion. Now I want to change HDD of my ps3.Do I need to deactivate my ps3? Because some people say I need to deactivate it because if not I cant play the game again after I redownload it but some say only just redownload the game.Who can tell me which one is correct? One more,What is the size of ps3 HDD that can fit? I know its 2.5" but what is the exactly size?
*
Usually you don't have to, I didn't with any of my share accounts.
Accounts are tied to the system, not the HDD.

But just de-activate and re-activate just in case.

Yeah, got the stuff. Thanks for the great help.

Any idea what's the largest hdd supported by ps3 slim?
*
I have a 1TB personally and I think it is the limit the PS3 will be able to handle, for now. Theoretically, the PS3 can handle 4TB HDDs as that is the limit for FAT32, but we don't have 4TB HDDs in 2.5" form so that point is moot.
Sony of course never made any official claims that 1TB is the limit. They've kept "increasing" that limit through firmwares in the past silently.

I remember that was a time back in 2007 when the PS3 first launched and some people did try to jam a 320GB HDD into it and the PS3 didn't really work with the HDD.

I would like to find out, is it possible to make transfer data from old HDD to new HHD without deactivate and active? Coz i basically lost all the username and pw for each individual account sad.gif
*
Yes and no.
There are quite a few games actually do require you to re-activate them again even though they are on the same system.

Most games do not need to be re-activated. Something Sony doesn't want to make clear.

can i add MY cc info into my US or EU PSN???
I need to change the billing info to malaysia address right?
*
No you can't.
Used to be able to use Entropay for US PSN, but not anymore.

Just go purchase US/EU PSN cards instead, they're cheaper than what will be charged to your CC.

QUOTE(Duckies @ Mar 20 2013, 05:05 PM)
Hi guys, wanna ask u something.I heard that you can't get 5.1 sound from speaker such as Edifier R501 through PS3 because R501 is designed to be a PC speaker, it uses 5.1 analog connection while your PS3 only supports digital 5.1 connection (optical spdif).

How to solve it?
*
2 simplest ways around this:

1) Getting a soundcard for your PC with optical input, speakers will then be connected to the card via analog connection. The DAC on the soundcard will handle the audio info to your speakers. Downside is, if you are playing on a TV, this basically means you need a PC next to your PS3 along with it being turned on whenever you use your PS3.

2) Get a receiver. This is the simplest way but decent receivers costs upwards of RM2k+. Which then at this point you'll realize how subpar the R501 are and want to upgarde your speakers, even more money will be burnt. laugh.gif

I am using PC monitor but then having to have to switch on both pc and ps3 just to play ps3 games is kinda...wasting electricity  sweat.gif Either way the only option is the FIRST one sweat.gif

Or is there any cheap home theatre system? laugh.gif

Oh while we r in this topic any good sound card that supports optical input?Budget around 300-400 smile.gif
*
There are "cheap" HTIB, the ones you see on those Carrefour/Courts Mammoth catalogs. The ones that cost RM899 or some stupid promo being RM699 + free whatever they wanna give.
Those HTIB are a laughable stock of sound quality, ridiculous they even charge that much in the first place.

For a soundcard, you can probably find a Creative Titanium (non HD) second hand in garage sales or if you're not urgent, wait for the release of the Creative Soundblaster Z series in Malaysia (supposedly this month).

No idea how much it'll sell in Malaysia.

It's $100 for the basic Z in the US. So expect it to sell for at least RM350 here.

Hmm I am not in hurry so might as well wait for it..but I wonder how good it is compared to X-fi Titanium and Asus Xonar DX hmm.gif
*
The Z has a better DAC than both the Titanium and the Xonar DX.

SBZ - Cirrus Logic CS4398 + a dedicated MAX97220A heapdhone amp.
Xonar DX - CMI-8788, no headphone amp, no optical in as well.
Titanium - Cirrus Logic CS4382, no headphone amp, has optical in.

The CS4398 on the Z is clearly a step up on the CS4382, the improvements are mainly on cleaning up the low and mid range. Other than that, the Z also uses nichicon gold capacitors (although some batches sold now are using cheaper Fujicon caps), power delivery is much cleaner than on the Titanium.

As for the DX? It's still a fairly decent card. Especially you can get it for lower than RM250 now a days, but since you need optical in... it's not a viable option.

I can go on more, but this isn't a soundcard thread so don't wanna go off-topic too much.

If you did take 2 minutes to read the first post of this thread, you'd have your answer and not get flame'd.

Hi Guys, do you aware that PS3 ProxyServer doesn't work with firmware 4.40 anymore?
*
QUOTE(shahreza2000 @ Mar 29 2013, 02:11 PM)
really?

i haven't use it for months... will try it later to confirm
*
Yup, just tested. Can personally confirm that PS3 ProxyServer doesn't work anymore. It was still working with 4.31.
So these were some of the "loopholes" Sony closed.

Thanks for the notice ylyap.

guys... wanna ask about clearing the dust inside PS3. would need to disassemble the cover to clear the dust? or can just vacuum thru the vent? i read disccussion that says can vacuum the dust thru the vent.... anyone tried?
*
QUOTE(Killer Tomato @ Apr 4 2013, 08:11 PM)
manual said vacuum thru vent only
*
Assuming you're on the PS3 slim (or phat, or super slim even, doesn't matter), vacuuming through the vents will pretty much do.... nothing.

There are no fans at the PS3's vents. The fan is next to the BD-ROM at the front of the PS3, there are small slits at the bottom of the casing.
Those slits are way too small for any dust to be sucked out anyways.

The ONLY sure fire way of removing dust from the PS3 is to open it up and cleaning it from the inside. A lot of the components are sandwich together, so even more reason that vacuuming through the vents just won't work.

So yeah, find a nice day... open it up, get a can of compressed air and spray away. Just make sure you don't spray into the BD drive.

Yes, you will need to activate the DLC again if you switch between PS3s.
