Guys, driving a E-spec 5G Honda City and is facing this really annoying problem. Whenever i go through uneven roads, there is this "rattling" sound that comes from the rear of the car. Not sure exactly where the source is but i am guessing from the place where the SC calls it "Speaker Board". The place where the reclining thing is located.

The sound was present long ago but only recently got worse. Send it multiple times to the SC and still it couldn't get fixed despite the fact they said they have changed the "speaker board" and "add this" and "add that". It sounds like something is loose but i can't see it anywhere. Help?

Somehow, the sound recently "migrated" to the front dashboard as well. Whenever i go through minor bumps now, a sound similar to "if you apply pressure and press the dashboard downwards" is emitted.

Goodness, i really don't have the time anymore to put my car into the SC for one whole freaking day and still can't get it fixed.

Any remedies?

yea i notice that also...i got my rattling sound from the left front seat...somewhere there it seems..but it comes and go like it has an attitude....the sound u guys hear is what i hear too...the main problem is it comes and goes for me...i dono why...maybe the stiff ring i installed or the UR bars that thighten the chasis abit too tight.. blink.gif

but 1 thing for sure is that if the sound is always there...just go back to honda service center...they will solve it for u...like the one i had, was cracking noise from the rear left hand near the seat belt...they adjusted it for me.....FOC but given u service ur car la..haha...

just sharing my experience with pumatec ceramic 500..

this brake pad grip is good for daily usage, better than stock.. just.. y'day i climb up to genting highland and the weather is cold, the fog is quite thick.. my brake pad start to fail when going down.. decide to stop.. can smell burnt rubber from the pad, and there is smoke as well..

maybe im wrong for not heat up the pad before going downhill.. but is this necessary?

your pads are ceramic base?...if yes u need to warm it up and i know its good but ceramic is quite harsh on our OEM rotors...

I've got metal rattling sound from rear bonnet before. Turned out it was from screwdriver and other stuff kit at the spare tire compartment. Try move it a bit and you might solve the rattling problem. This is one of many probable causes.

I removed mine.. took almost 4 hours. sweat.gif

Try and send to accessories shop and ask them to remove it for you (probably not free).. or if you want to try it yourself, here's a few tips.

1. Slowly try and peel of the door visor and try to get as much tape as you can out as well from the first peel.
2. Once you remove all the visors, use Zippo lighter fluid to wet the remaining tape that still stuck on the door frame.
3. Look for this door wedge (usually in pink color), use it like an eraser to rub off the tape.
4. Do NOT use your fingernail, you'll easily scratch the rubber frame (I did with mine, now can see some marking already)

Just change the front ones will do. The back bias isn't that high.
I'm using Project Mu. thumbup.gif

i would recommend you find the nearest ACE hardware shop, find something called Label Remover by Ambersil.
Ambersil Label Remover

Works better. I've used this to remove all forms of sticky tape residue including the rear badges.
